The split-second silence was enough of a cue for Claude to burst into laughter. His restrained laugh completely mirrored the groan Eugene gave him in response.
Eugene lowered his head and held its sides. "Man, I don't know about this feeling, though. I don't want to force myself to like Irving the way he wants me to. That doesn't sound fair. Also, I have to keep my eyes on him all the time. I don't want to deal with another fallout. He will kill Jameson if that idiot says something out of line. And fuck, Len makes that guy say things even he doesn't want to say."
Claude scrunched his face, taming his laugh. "I can see that happening. Don't worry, I'll kick Len's ass if he ends up allowing Irving to hurt someone by accident. Irving needs to find the right amount of control over his instincts."
Eugene nodded and continued to brush his teeth. "Yeah, the school is announcing the winners later. Do you think you made it?"
