Verena's somber tone continued, her eyes hooding. "He just… Andrei… He doesn't care too much about Len right now. Even if Len has to stay with him, he won't even drag Len to his little camp."
"He probably understands Len more than anything."
A third voice joined their conversation. When Verena and Claude looked at one corner, Howie peeked from the side. He smiled at them before walking closer. "Irving told me what he saw last night. Len must have endured a lot of pain because of those flowers. Still, he continued to linger when Claude needed him the most."
Claude wanted to say something, but he kept mum. Len did stay away to keep him from seeing his mate's deterioration. When the university was attacked, Len forced his way inside the witches' protection circles. He even allowed the mate to eat his flesh.
The mother beside him answered the Beta. Verena huffed. "Understands Len more than anything? What does that guy know aside from acting like a child?"
