As Bob again enters the ethereal, Sea-like Landscape of RLSSD #3 … Bob is finally beginning… to See.
Well. In a manner of speaking, as we would also soon… see ✨.
"The Shimmer" allows him to better perceive… and in the process, he also receives…
A deeper and richer immersion - an increasingly refined *sensitivity of perception* as to the flow of information and feedback from the surrounding environment - even as he continues on his [Deep Dive] excursion…!
If the boy - the Avatar in the Dream World - wishes, he can adjust "the Shimmer" to result in a richer view of the focused-upon-area, with increased saturation and vibrancy providing him with a more detailed and vivid sensation and experience as he explores the world of the Subconscious.
But at the same time, the opposite is also possible - and the boy can also choose to mute and tone down the colours and vibrancy of The Shimmer, which results in decreased external perception and experience. And as he dulls and blocks out the external informational flow, this allows for more time to reflect and process, again providing him with a different kind of exploratory experience…!
Thanks to his regular, focused training and relentless, yet measured work ethic - even in the Dream World - Bob has now mastered the seamless 'blending' of "the Shimmer" in with the background, where the luminosity, brightness and vividness of the radiant disc of iridescent light, more or less, now *exactly matches* the surrounding environment, rendering it effectively *invisible* to the standard external 5 senses, aside from his own inherent [Awareness] of its position!!!
After some trial and error, Bob quickly realised that this 'seamless blending' of the Shimmer into the surrounding environment was the source of the 'effortless, absence of resistance' feeling that he had occasionally, momentarily felt when earlier experimenting with adjusting the Shimmer in his earlier explorations of the RLSSD…
And after a lot of practice, Bob is now able to maintain this feeling, naturally adjusting "the Shimmer" to maintain its perfect 'blending-in' with the changing surrounds, at first only when standing still, but then, increasingly, even as he moves around, at first slowly… but then! With increasing confidence, speed and skill…!

Indeed. Through his exceptional control of "the Shimmer", this sensation of effortlessness was essentially akin to a kind of guided [Flow State] training, where Bob could gradually grow more and more used to this feeling of 'no resistance', where movement and exploration would come effortlessly and increasingly naturally, his [Flow State - Advanced] ability optimizing not only his grasp and perception of all incoming informational streams entering his [Awareness], but also the ease at which he could absorb, process and respond optimally to a constantly changing environment, as would occur in every moment in real life - and which, coincidentally - and ironically, considering that "the Shimmer" was now effectively invisible ✨ - now also allowed him to *see* the World around him more accurately and objectively, with less bias from an overly bright or overly dull Shimmer which would cloud his perception and which also came with an accompanying friction or sluggishness, as he moved around!
