A week later…
The day finally came for the twins to be discharged properly, and everything went smoothly without any stress. The nurses handled the process quickly, the doctor came in to confirm that they were both doing well, and after a few final instructions about their medications and care, we were free to leave.
The twins were beyond excited, and they kept talking all the way out of the hospital, holding onto Aaron's hands as if they were afraid something might suddenly change.
"We're finally going home!" Jasmine said, almost skipping as she walked.
"Yes, no more hospital," Hanith added, his face bright with happiness.
Aaron just smiled at them, guiding them carefully as we made our way to the car.
He drove, while I gave him directions to my place, and the twins sat in the back, talking nonstop about everything they had missed.
