I sighed, but I placed my foot on the step and climbed up, holding onto the pole carefully.
Aaron got on the one beside me, and for a brief second, we both looked at each other and laughed softly.
"This feels strange," I admitted.
"A little," he agreed.
The ride started moving slowly, the gentle music wrapping around us as the horses began their soft up and down motion.
Jasmine laughed quietly. "Mom, look, I'm riding!"
"I can see you," I said, smiling at her.
Hanith leaned forward slightly. "Dad, am I doing it right?"
"You're doing great," Aaron replied.
The movement was calm, steady, and for once, there was no rush, no loud shouting, just soft laughter and quiet excitement.
I looked around, watching the twins, watching Aaron, and then I felt the breeze brush lightly against my face as the ride turned.
Aaron leaned slightly closer. "You look like you're enjoying this."
I glanced at him. "Maybe I am."
He smiled.
