Erin looked away.
Erin: "Don't prank me." 😔
Elda shook her head.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
Elda: "When I found out you were my mate..."
"I was the happiest person too, Erin."
"But fate wanted something else."
She took a deep breath.
Elda: "Aunt Ether asked me to marry Aaron."
"It was for his safety."
"He was the only royal heir."
"And Father made me promise..."
"That I would protect the royal family no matter what."

More tears fell.
Elda: "More than anyone..."
"I was the one who suffered the most after rejecting you."

"I told myself you were finally happy."
Erin let out a bitter laugh.
Erin: "Omega?"

Elda looked up in surprise.
Elda: "What?"
Erin's eyes slowly turned purple.
Her emotions spilled out.
Erin: "He was a cheater."
Elda immediately walked closer and knelt in front of her.
Erin continued quietly.
Erin: "At first..."
"He treated me well."
"But after a few days..."
"He started meeting another Beta right in front of me."
"I was hurt."

Elda listened silently.
Erin looked down.
