The City of Solen...
"Have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"About the attack in the southern region of the Great Velmora Empire!"
"Huh? What happened? Who attacked?"
"Are you stupid? I said the southern region!"
"That's not what I meant, damn it. I mean, who attacked it?"
"Oh, sorry. I didn't realize what you meant. Rebel forces. It's on a massive scale! Rumor has it that it's not just the border towns but several nearby cities as well!"
"Are you serious? How reliable is this news?"
"Totally reliable! One hundred percent!"
The voices of two men could be heard as they walked through the city center.
They weren't the only ones talking about it, either. Plenty of other people were having the same conversation.
"Here's your warm bread."
"Thank you."
Nolan took the bread and walked away.
He took a bite and savored the tender beef and sweet sauce inside.
"It's delicious," he muttered.
He kept taking bite after bite until the bread was gone before he even realized it.
