Chapter 84 - Chapter 82: Welcome To Heaven

The room, already tense, tightened further as all eyes fell on Mephisto Pheles.

Before Mephisto could even open his mouth, a sharp voice cut in.

"Arthur."

All heads turned toward Uriel.

His twelve wings flared slightly as his stern gaze locked onto Arthur.

"Have you made a deal with that man?"

The way he said "that man" carried clear disdain.

Arthur didn't hesitate.

"Yeah, I did."

He answered plainly.

*Silence*

"What?"

Serafall leaned forward, eyes wide.

Sirzechs' expression hardened instantly.

"Arthur… do you understand what that means?"

Gabriel looked between them anxiously.

"A deal with Mephisto Pheles."

Even Azazel let out a low whistle.

"Oh, that's bold of you, kid. Even I didn't know you did that."

Arthur shrugged lightly, though his eyes remained serious.

"Don't worry. I know exactly what I'm doing."

Sirzechs leaned forward, voice firm with concern.

"Do you? Mephisto Pheles is not someone you make deals with lightly. Do you even know what his ability is?"

Arthur nods.

"Yeah, I know what it is. It's-"

"Faustian Bargain."

Serafall cut in, her tone now completely serious.

Arthur nodded once.

"Yeah. That one."

Serafall folded her arms.

"Then you should know that once a deal is made between you and Mephisto, it must be fulfilled. If either you or Mephisto couldn't fulfill their end of the deal…"

"…They are punished accordingly."

Arthur finished calmly.

Mephisto chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the tension.

"Such a lovely explanation, Lady Leviathan."

Mephisto raised a finger slightly, smiling.

"But if I may add a small clarification…"

Everyone turned to him again.

"My ability not only to create deals with others, but I can also create deals on my own."

Arthur blinked once.

"You can?"

Mephisto nodded.

"Indeed. I may sacrifice something essential that I possess in exchange for something else. For example…"

He tapped his chin theatrically.

"…I could permanently sacrifice the ability to have sexual intercourse in exchange for achieving enlightenment."

Arthur's eyes widened just slightly.

(That's basically similar to Binding Vows from Jujutsu Kaisen.)

A flicker of interest passed through his gaze.

"I didn't know that part."

Arthur muttered.

Azazel grinned.

"Yeah, he's a walking cheat code."

Mephisto bowed slightly.

"I prefer 'creative problem solver.'"

Uriel stares at Arthur.

"Despite being aware of his capabilities, you still chose to make a deal with him? What exactly is the deal you made with him?"

Arthur leaned back slightly.

"When I first arrived at Grauzauberer, Mephisto and I made a deal where I, Cao Cao, and Heracles get to study magic under Mephisto's No.1 magician, which is Lavinia, and also have full access to their library. And in exchange, he only asks for one favor."

Sirzechs frowned deeper.

"And you agreed... Just like that."

Arthur met his gaze.

"I weighed the risks."

Serafall narrowed her eyes.

"Are you sure you didn't underestimate him?"

Arthur shook his head.

"No. I didn't."

Arthur exhaled slowly, then refocused.

"Alright. Enough distractions. What's the favor you're gonna ask me?"

Mephisto's smile sharpened.

"It's quite simple. You will go to Japan and personally investigate the Heavenly of Aloha Incident, locate the missing students and teachers, and, if possible…"

His eyes glinted faintly.

"…hunt down the perpetrators."

Arthur blinked.

"…That's it?"

Mephisto nodded.

"That's it."

Arthur stared at him for a few seconds.

"That's suspiciously reasonable."

Azazel laughed.

"Hahaha! Right? I thought he'd ask for your soul or something."

Mephisto waved a hand dismissively.

"Please. I'm not that predictable. Besides, this task aligns perfectly with your ideals, does it not? Protecting innocent civilians. Hunting dangerous threats. Battling strong opponents."

Mephisto added casually.

"In fact, you may also bring your companions, if you wish. I have no objections."

Azazel raised a finger.

"And I get to add one more person to your team."

Arthur turned his head slowly toward him.

"Who?"

Azazel smirked.

"That's a surprise."

Arthur stared at him.

"I don't like the sound of that."

Arthur muttered.

"Relax, Red. You'll get along just fine... I think."

Azazel replied casually.

Arthur sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"…Fine."

He looked back at Mephisto.

"First, I'll go to Heaven tomorrow. Once I'm done with my business there, I'll go straight to Japan."

Arthur said firmly.

Mephisto's grin widened.

"Excellent choice, my boy."

Gabriel stepped closer, her expression filled with concern.

"Arthur… are you sure you're alright with this?"

Arthur glanced at her and shrugged lightly.

"I don't mind. It's been a while since I've done any actual fieldwork anyway. Training recruits and doing paperwork gets pretty boring and mentally exhausting."

Azazel snorted.

"You almost sounded like an old man."

Arthur ignored him.

He stood up and stretched slightly.

"Alright. If that's everything, let's end it here for tonight."

He looked around the room and gestured casually.

"If there isn't anything else to discuss, then let's all go back to our respective homes and rest. Okay?"

There was a brief exchange of looks between everyone.

Then, one by one, they nodded.

Uriel was the first to move.

"Then we will take our leave first."

Gabriel smiled brightly and rushed forward again.

"Good night, Arthur!"

Before he could react, she hugged him tightly, again.

Arthur stiffened as he heard his spine popping.

(…Not again...)

"See you tomorrow!"

Gabriel said warmly before finally letting go this time.

Arthur inhaled deeply.

"Yeah… you too."

Uriel turned slightly before leaving.

"An escort will meet you tomorrow morning. You are allowed to bring your companions tomorrow."

Arthur nodded.

The two Seraphs vanished in a flash of light.

Next, Sirzechs and Serafall stood.

Serafall walked up to Arthur and suddenly shoved something into his hands.

"What is this?"

"A Season One DVD of Miracle☆Levia-tan! It's also the Director's cut, AND signed by yours truly! You better watch it, okay?"

Serafall said proudly.

Arthur looked at it, then at her.

"…Do I even have a choice?"

Serafall smiled sweetly, then gave him the most terrifying death glare imaginable.

"WATCH. IT. OKAY?"

...

Arthur blinked.

"I'll… be watching it in my free time."

"Good!"

Serafall said, satisfied.

Sirzechs stepped forward quietly, handing Arthur a small card.

"My personal contact. If you ever need anything..."

Arthur took it.

"…I know."

Sirzechs hesitated for a second, then spoke softly.

"Arthur… I'm sorry. For everything."

Arthur didn't respond immediately.

"Be seeing you, Sirzechs."

He said instead.

Sirzechs nodded once.

A magic circle formed beneath them, and both Devils disappeared.

That left two.

Arthur slowly turned his head.

"..."

Mephisto was now wearing Superman-themed pajamas and holding a Freddy Fazbear plushie.

"So, where am I sleeping tonight? I prefer to sleep on a mahogany bed with an allergen-free mattress and pillows. And do you have a glass of almond milk? Cow's milk gives me the hiccups. Oh, and I can't sleep well without a bedtime story, so be a pal and recite the entire United States Bill of Rights, please?"

Mephisto asked cheerfully.

Arthur stared at him.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

"…Get the fuck out of my house."

Before Mephisto could react, Arthur grabbed him by the collar and physically dragged him outside.

"Arthur, my boy, such hostility is bad for the complexi-!"

*SLAM!*

The door slammed shut.

Arthur exhaled slowly, then turned around.

Azazel was still there, leaning casually against the wall, and grinning like an idiot.

Arthur narrowed his eyes.

"You're still here. Why?"

Azazel shrugged.

"Don't worry, Red, I'll be out of your hair. But first, I've got a little something you might be interested in."

Arthur crossed his arms.

"And that is?"

DxD

The next day.

Arthur had already finished his routine.

A brutal early workout that left the training grounds cracked and scorched, a warm breakfast shared with those closest to him, and a stack of documents that he had the great misfortune of signing, reviewing, and delegating.

Now, he stood at the front yard of his mansion, hands resting in his hoodie pockets, his bag on his shoulder.

"…So this is really happening, huh?"

Arthur muttered under his breath.

Behind him, the first group stood ready.

Lavinia adjusted the strap of her bag, her expression composed as always.

"Everything's set. Valerie, are the essentials packed?"

Valerie nodded beside her, clutching her bag slightly.

"Yes. I double-checked everything."

Heracles stood there with a wide grin, stretching his arms like he was about to embark on a trip rather than a mission.

"Man, I've been waiting for this. Another adventure with almost all of my favorite people in the world. Let's go!"

Siegfried rolled his shoulders lazily, his sword resting across his back.

"Well, at least this is way better than babysitting duty."

*Thud.*

"Oww!"

Jeanne's elbow slammed into his side without hesitation.

"Watch your mouth, Sieg. The children can hear you."

Jeanne snapped, glaring at him.

Siegfried winced slightly.

"It was a joke, Jeanne."

Jeanne narrowed her eyes further.

"You're not funny. So don't even bother."

"What the hell did you just say?"

Arthur chuckled at the exchange between "NOT lovers" before turning his attention to the sidelines.

Isaiah, Asia, and Leonardo stood together, watching.

Arthur raised a hand slightly.

"You three. Don't cause trouble while we're gone, and listen to Grandpa Vasco and Victoria. Got it? They know better."

Asia nodded immediately, her hands clasped together.

"Yes! We'll be good. Please be safe, Brother Arthur. I'll pray for you every day."

Leonardo gave a firm nod.

"Understood."

Isaiah shrugged, hands in his pockets.

"…Yeah, yeah. Just don't die or anything."

Arthur smirked faintly.

"I'll try not to."

He then looked toward Vasco Strada, who stood nearby with his usual imposing presence.

"Keep an eye on Avalon, okay, Gramps?"

Vasco let out a hearty laugh.

"Hahaha! Don't worry, boy! Avalon's in good hands!"

Arthur nodded, satisfied.

Victoria stepped forward next, bowing deeply.

"Safe travels, Master Arthur. And to all of you."

"Thanks, Victoria."

Arthur replied.

Georg adjusted his glasses from the side.

"Arthur, the task you assigned me has been completed. I guarantee that there should be no more unwanted trespassers."

Arthur glanced at him.

"Good work, Georg. Appreciate it."

Then a flash of light tore through the sky.

Everyone looked up.

Four armored angels descended gracefully, each clad in white and gold armor, wings unfurling as they landed in formation with their swords resting at their sides, and shields gleaming faintly.

One of them stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

"Good morning, Archbishop Arthur Pendragon. We are the escort sent by Lord Michael."

Arthur nodded once.

He turned to his group.

"Alright, gang. First stop, Heaven. IS everyone ready?"

Heracles' eyes lit up.

"Heaven, huh? I wonder what it looks like. Does it really have seventy-two virgins just as the Islamic people said?"

Siegfried smirked.

"Ha! I wish, then maybe-"

*Stomp!*

Jeanne stomped hard on his foot this time.

"GAAAAAHHH!!!"

"Perverted scum."

She hissed.

Siegfried sucked in a breath.

"What the hell did I do, woman?!"

Arthur watched them for a second, then shook his head.

(How in the world are they not dating yet... Or are they?)

He turned back to the angels.

"It seems that we're all ready."

The four angels nodded in unison and moved into position, forming a square around Arthur and his group.

A massive white magic circle expanded beneath their feet, intricate symbols glowing with holy light.

"Good luck!"

"Be careful!"

"Bring back souvenirs!"

Arthur raised a hand in acknowledgment.

"Okay. We will."

Then the light surged.

In an instant, Arthur and his group vanished.

Just then, from the shadows emerged a young man with dark hair who was wearing shades and carrying a large pair of bloodstained bull horns.

"For Christ's sake, that mission was a pain, and it took me a week, but I finally got rid of that stupid Minotaur."

He sighed in relief, but then he noticed the remaining group looking at him, the newcomer.

He looked back at what he thought they were looking at and then returned to the others.

"What did I miss?"

Connla asked, confused.

DxD

The group reappeared and was standing on a vast platform made entirely of marble that was surrounded by clouds.

Golden light filled the sky, massive structures floated in the distance, gleaming white towers and archways adorned with gold, stretching endlessly across the horizon, and countless angels flew gracefully between the skies.

The atmosphere itself felt… holy.

Valerie gasped softly.

"It's… beautiful…"

Lavinia's eyes widened slightly, taking everything in.

"So this is Heaven…"

Heracles looked around like a kid watching porn for the first time.

"Whoa… okay, this is actually amazing."

Even Siegfried went quiet as his gaze lingered on the scenery.

"Even to this day, I can't get used to watching this scenery."

"Yeah... Me too."

Jeanne agrees as her hand unknowingly intertwines with Siegfried's, who was too distracted to notice.

Arthur stood at the front, silent for a moment as he took in the view.

(Holy mother of God. The Bible doesn't do this place justice.)

The angel who led them stepped forward and spoke clearly.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Heaven."

The massive gates of Heaven opened with golden light pouring outward as the towering doors parted, revealing the vast expanse beyond.

The four escort angels stepped forward in perfect formation.

"Arthur Pendragon, by the order of Lady Gabriel, we are to guide you and your companions through the Seven Heavens."

The leading angel said respectfully.

(Gabby, huh. Well, ain't that nice of her.)

Arthur gave a small nod.

"Understood. Lead the way."

He turned slightly, glancing back at his group: Lavinia, Valerie, Heracles, Jeanne, and Siegfried.

Only to pause as his eyes widened.

"Seriously?"

Lavinia blinked.

"Arthur?"

Valerie tilted her head.

"What is it?"

Heracles followed Arthur's gaze.

Then he froze.

"…Oh."

All three slowly turned.

Siegfried and Jeanne were standing side by side...

Holding hands.

"What?"

Siegfried asked, noticing the sudden attention.

Jeanne frowned.

"Why are you all staring at us like that?"

Lavinia raised a finger slowly and pointed.

"Your hands."

Both of them blinked.

They looked at each other.

Then looked down.

Their fingers were tightly intertwined.

There were a few seconds of silence, then both of their faces turned bright red.

They yanked their hands apart instantly.

"THIS ISN'T WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!"

Jeanne snapped.

"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! I SWEAR!"

Siegfried added quickly.

Heracles burst out laughing.

"Hahahahahaha! Looks like we've got two somebodies going straight to hell!"

"SHUT UP, HERACLES!"x2

They both shouted in perfect sync.

Valerie covered her mouth, giggling softly.

"You both even said the same sentences at the same time."

That only made things worse.

Jeanne started.

"WE ARE NOT-!"

"-LIKE THAT!"

Siegfried finished.

They froze again.

"You see that, everyone? Sieg and Jeanne, sitting in a tree~"

Heracles grinned.

"SHUT IT, OR YOU'RE DEAD!"x2

The two immediately turned on him, glaring murderously.

Arthur crossed his arms, watching the chaos unfold with quiet amusement.

(Yeah… they're definitely dating…)

The escort angel cleared his throat loudly.

The group froze.

Arthur exhaled and rubbed his temple.

"Alright, gang. Focus. We're here for a reason, not to cause a scene."

Everyone straightened, much to the relief of the power couple.

The group followed the angels through the gates.

A vast, open expanse of gleaming white platforms stretched endlessly, connected by bridges of light.

Countless angels moved in synchronized formations, their wings flapping as they practiced combat drills with light swords and spears, moving in perfect coordination, and their strikes were precise and disciplined.

Arthur watched silently as the sound of clashing blades echoed rhythmically.

Heracles let out a low whistle.

"Damn… they're serious. I wonder if they'd spar with me."

Heracles muttered, clearly tempted.

The entire group slowly turned to look at him.

"What?"

"No."

Lavinia said flatly.

"Absolutely not."

Jeanne added.

Arthur didn't even bother responding.

The escort angel gestured forward.

"This is the First Heaven. The residence of Low-Class Angels and the primary defensive line of Heaven."

Arthur nodded once, taking mental note.

A marble platform appeared beneath their feet, glowing softly.

"Next, Second Heaven."

The angel said as light enveloped them.

...

They reappeared in darkness.

Arthur frowned immediately.

"Who the hell turned on Dark Mode?"

The sky was black, filled with distant stars, while massive observatories and crystalline structures floated in the void.

"This is the Second Heaven. A region of observation. Here, Angels study the stars… and confine those who have sinned."

The escort angel explained calmly.

Arthur's eyes narrowed slightly.

"And those involved in the Tower of Babel incident are imprisoned here."

One of the angels added.

They walked forward, and the group spotted rows of crystal pillars that came into view, each one containing a human figure suspended within, frozen yet conscious.

The group slowed.

"They're still alive."

Valerie whispered.

The moment the prisoners noticed them, their eyes lit up.

Then they started shouting in different languages.

"Comment êtes-vous arrivés ici ? Aidez-nous !" (French: How did you get here? Help us!)

"¡Sácame de aquí! ¡Por favor!" (Spanish: Get me out of here! Please!)

"Wie seid ihr hierher gekommen? Befreit uns!" (German: How did you get here? Free us!)

"助けてくれ!ここから出してくれ!" (Japanese: Help me! Get me out of here!)

"救命啊!放我出去!" (Chinese: Save me! Let me out!)

"Помогите! Вы тоже заключённые?" (Russian: Help! Are you prisoners too?)

"Salvami! Ti prego, liberami!" (Italian: Save me! Please, free me!)

"ساعدونا! نحن سجناء هنا!" (Arabic: Help us! We are prisoners here!)

"Socorro! Tire-me daqui!" (Portuguese: Help! Get me out of here!)

"Tulungan niyo kami! Ilabas niyo kami dito!" (Filipino: Help us! Get us out of here!)

Their voices overlapped, echoing in desperation.

Arthur's expression didn't change.

He understood every word they were saying because of his Devil side, which allows him to understand and speak different languages.

Valerie looked at him nervously.

"Arthur… what are they saying?"

Arthur didn't answer immediately.

Lavinia gently placed a hand on Valerie's shoulder.

"It's better if you don't know."

Valerie went quiet.

Arthur turned away from the prisoners.

"Let's move."

The escort angels nodded.

"Next stop, Third Heaven."

The marble platform formed beneath them once more.

Light engulfed the group as they ascended toward the next Heaven.

...

The light fades as Arthur's group steps off the platform.

Arthur's gaze lifted immediately.

"Whoa."

In the distance, towering far beyond anything they had seen so far, stood a massive, vibrant tree.

Its trunk alone seemed to stretch endlessly upward, its branches spreading like a canopy that covered entire regions of Heaven, and each leaf shimmered with a faint golden-green light.

Lavinia's eyes widened slightly.

"Is that…"

"This is the Third Heaven. The home of the souls of the dead who have been taken into Heaven."

One of the escort angels explained.

Valerie placed a hand over her chest, her red eyes reflecting the glow.

"It feels… peaceful."

The angel nodded.

"It is vast beyond comprehension. This is the Heaven most worshippers believe in."

Another angel added.

"It is also connected to Purgatory. And this is where the Tree of Life, Kabbalah, resides."

He gestured toward the massive tree.

Arthur exhaled slowly.

"Yeah… I can see that."

They began walking.

All around them, countless souls knelt or stood in quiet reverence, praying, meditating, or simply basking in the gentle light.

Heracles scratched his cheek.

"This kinda feels weird being here. Not bad, weird. Just… weird."

Siegfried nodded.

"I know, right? It's calm. Too calm for my taste."

Jeanne placed a hand over her heart briefly.

"That's the point. It's supposed to feel sacred."

Arthur didn't comment as he simply observed.

After a while, they reached another platform.

...

They arrived before a massive wall.

It stretched endlessly in both directions, carved from ancient stone, and at its center stood an enormous gate, sealed and guarded.

Arthur's eyes immediately found the figure standing before it.

"Uriel?"

Uriel turned his head and nodded slightly.

"Arthur."

His gaze swept across the group.

"Welcome to the Fourth Heaven."

The escort angels bowed deeply.

"Lord Uriel."

Uriel raised a hand.

"At ease."

Arthur stepped forward slightly.

"Didn't expect to see you here."

Uriel glanced back at the gate.

"The Lord has tasked me with guarding the entrance to the Garden of Eden. After the first humans, Adam and Eve, were exiled for consuming the forbidden fruit, I was assigned to stand watch here. I will continue to do so until the Lord commands otherwise."

He paused, then added.

"Though, at times, I delegate the duty to other angels when necessary."

Arthur nodded once.

"Makes sense. I can tell it gets pretty boring staying at one place for long periods."

Valerie stared at the gate in awe.

"So this is where humanity began."

Lavinia's voice was soft.

"The Garden of Eden. The origin of mankind."

Jeanne lowered her gaze slightly and bowed.

Arthur looked back at Uriel.

"By the way, where's Michael currently?"

Uriel answered immediately.

"The place where he is always busy. Sixth Heaven, also known as Zebel."

Arthur nodded.

"Got it. Thanks, Uri."

He turned to his group.

"Okay, guys and gals. Let's move."

They stepped onto the platform again.

As the light swallowed them, Uriel watched silently.

"He called me Uri... just like she did."

He muttered under his breath.

...

The Fifth Heaven was… different.

Arthur blinked once as they arrived.

"Okay, I did not expect this."

The entire region looked like a fusion of divine architecture and advanced technology.

Towering structures made of glowing crystal and metal, platforms floated midair, connected by streams of light, and Angels moved between them, carrying scrolls, devices, and tools for their research.

Heracles looked around, impressed.

"Whoa… this place looks like something that belongs to a sci-fi lab."

Siegfried crossed his arms.

"Feels more like a research facility than Heaven."

The escort angel explained.

"This is the Fifth Heaven. Formerly the domain of the Watchers, now known as Grigori, before their fall. It is now dedicated to research and development. Currently, the Angels here are focused on a critically important research."

Arthur raised an eyebrow slightly but soon nodded slowly.

"I guess that makes sense. Keeping up with the times and all that."

They walked through the area, observing quietly.

"My, my… You must be the ones Uriel mentioned."

Then a calm, mature feminine voice echoed behind them.

Arthur turned.

Standing there was a woman with twelve radiant wings, her blonde hair tied neatly into a bun, glasses resting on her face, and her presence was composed and undeniably intelligent.

She smiled gently.

"Welcome, children. My name is Raphael, one of the Four Great Seraphs and the head of Research and Development. But you may call me Raphael."

Arthur blinked once.

(Damn… she's hot.)

Inside his mind, Ddraig chuckled.

(Agreed.)

Arthur kept a straight face.

"Nice to meet you, Raphael. My name is Arthur Pendragon."

Raphael adjusted her glasses slightly.

"I can see that. And what brings you here during our very busy schedule?"

The escort angels stepped forward quickly and bowed.

"Lady Raphael. We are escorting them under the orders of Lady Gabriel for a tour."

Raphael hummed softly.

"I see. That sounds like Gabriel, alright. Very well, you all may proceed."

She paused, then added.

"But do not disturb the researchers and do not touch anything."

Her tone made it clear that it was not a suggestion.

Arthur nodded.

"Understood."

After checking the region and stopping Heracles from touching what looked eerily similar to a sphere of plutonium–gallium alloy, aka the Demon Core, the group moved on.

...

Another teleport.

"This is as far as we are authorized to escort you."

One of the angels said.

Arthur looked ahead.

A massive gate stood before them, far larger and sturdier than the one below.

It radiated power and authority.

"This is the Sixth Heaven, also known as Zebel. The place where the Four Great Seraphs reside."

The angel added.

The escort angels bowed once more.

"It is time that we take our leave."

Arthur nodded.

"Okay then. Thanks a bunch."

They vanished in a flash of light.

Silence settled, but then the gates slowly opened.

"ARTHUR!"

A blur of light shot toward him.

"What the-!"

Heracles was blown backward, Lavinia and Valerie stumbled, and Jeanne and Siegfried were forced to brace themselves.

Arthur reacted instinctively, planting his feet on the clouds and raising his arms, preparing himself.

(Oh God, here it goes.)

But instead of an impact, he felt warm and gentle hands on his shoulders.

"Welcome to my home, Arthur!"

Arthur blinked.

"Uhh... Hi Gabby."

Gabriel beamed at him, her face glowing with happiness.

Arthur glanced sideways.

"Everyone okay?"

"We're fine, this is nothing."

Jeanne replied, brushing herself off.

Arthur sighed slightly and looked back at Gabriel.

"Gabby… please be careful next time. And always check your surroundings."

Gabriel pouted.

"I can't help it, okay? I'm just so happy to see you again. We didn't really talk properly last night."

Arthur pinched the bridge of his nose.

She clasped her hands together again, smiling brightly.

"Now, once again. Welcome to Zebel, everyone!"

Then she grabbed his arm.

"Come, come! I'll show you everything!"

"Wait-"

Too late.

She was already dragging him inside.

Arthur let out a long, helpless sigh.

Behind them, Heracles grinned.

"Man, watching Arthur being manhandled is hilarious."

Valerie giggled softly, and Lavinia smiled faintly.

Siegfried shook his head.

"He's doomed."

Jeanne crossed her arms.

"Serves him right."

Laughing quietly, they followed Gabriel and the unwillingly-dragged Arthur deeper into the Sixth Heaven.
