Chapter 501 - Chapter 500: Who the Hell Are You?!

In the year 800 of the Queen Calendar, simply because they were in a bad mood, the Fang Clan casually wiped out the Wing Clan. The only survivor of the Wing Clan, Muryan, swore revenge against the Fang Clan and is currently still secretly suppressing her hatred.

Afterward, one of the Calamities, "Mors," occurred. Mors refers to fairies who have lost their original purpose and heart turning into pitch-black things; furthermore, it is contagious. Humans cannot be infected, and the Fang Clan possesses a certain resistance, allowing them to fight against Mors. Eventually, Mors became a long-term phenomenon existing on the British Isle, only temporarily suppressed.

During that war, the leader of the Fang Clan died in battle. At the same time, the King of Mors issued a prophecy akin to a curse to the entire Fang Clan: "You are next."

For the fairies of this Fairy Kingdom, compared to the Calamity that appears every millennium, Mors is what terrifies them more. After all, the Calamity that appears every millennium is suppressed by their Queen, and the time of its appearance is relatively fixed. But Mors... you cannot guarantee whether the companion beside you will turn into that pitch-black thing one day and then infect you.

Thinking about becoming like that, there is probably no fairy who wouldn't be moved by fear.

Thus, this female fairy hurriedly slapped the other fairy pressing on top of her, signaling him to get up quickly; it was better to flee now. Because of the sudden fright, this female fairy couldn't even scream for a moment. It had to be said, a Mors suddenly popping out while they were starting their banquet truly left them at a loss!

"Quick... Ah~~... You bastard! Hurry—! Get... Ah——!!"

This female fairy was already cursing incessantly in her heart. She wanted the beast lying on top of her to get up immediately. However, the beast lying on her misunderstood just as she said the first word. Because of what they were doing, she didn't have much strength and just slapped the beast directly.

Meanwhile, that Mors had already slowly bent its body, assuming a posture ready to attack. At the same time, the pitch-black substance completely covered that fairy's body.

We're done for!

Like a wild beast, the Mors rushed up directly. Fresh blood scattered in all directions. The moment this fresh blood spilled onto the ground, it turned into a pitch-black appearance. Although the blood wouldn't remain, screams echoed constantly here. The attacked fairies already showed signs of infection; their goals and original hearts would gradually vanish.

Slowly dying under such a pitch-black transformation was simply like walking toward death step by step.

"Ah... Ahhhhhh!!!"

The screams reached Aslan's ears. Indeed, the fairies before him seemed to have been attacked by some creature. To some extent, Aslan really wanted to say "serves you right." At the same time, a faint curiosity drove Aslan out of the carriage. The moment Aslan stepped out of the carriage, a fairy hurriedly fled to him.

This fairy had heard that the fellow traveler was a High Fairy species, so he fled here. If it was a High Fairy, he should be able to eliminate those Mors, right?

"Save me... Please save me!"

Behind this fairy followed several pitch-black humanoid existences. Intuition told Aslan that if a fairy touched this black existence, they would undoubtedly die. However, these pitch-black existences didn't seem to harbor any malice toward him; they even emitted a friendly aura toward him.

But that made sense. If Aslan truly inherited that name, he would also be part of the Calamity, the promoter of this island's self-destruction. Since that was the case, the Mors, also being a Calamity, naturally wouldn't hold any hostility toward Aslan. Moreover, Aslan also had human blood in his veins, and humans would not turn into Mors.

In the final analysis, these Calamities were essentially the Horned God (Cernunnos) and that Priestess's curse and hatred toward the fairies.

Even the Great Calamity before the Winter War was Cernunnos breaking free from the seal and turning the entire Fairy Britain to ashes. However, Morgan used the power of the Tree of Emptiness to reshape all of Britain and even resurrected all the fairies, while sealing Cernunnos in the pit of Camelot and setting up special artillery.

Sensing no danger, and coupled with his inherent displeasure toward these fairies, Aslan did not draw his weapon. He just watched those pitch-black things approach this fairy.

This fairy seemed to feel confused, his eyes full of bewilderment and incomprehension. "Why? Why don't you act? If you get infected, you'll die too!"

Looking at Aslan's unmoved face, this fairy gritted his teeth, turned his head, and ran in another direction. If he had known this fairy before him was a fool, he wouldn't have come here!

It was just that it was a bit too late to want to escape now.

There were many fairies here; in other words, there were definitely many Mors here too. This place had long been surrounded. Above Aslan's carriage, a Mors pounced down directly. Upon contacting this last fairy's body, the black substance acted like constantly multiplying cells, beginning to wrap around the other fairy's body.

And Aslan just stood quietly among the group of Mors. One of the Mors even squatted beside Aslan like a cute puppy, seeming to want Aslan to pat its head gently. Looking at such a Mors, Aslan also raised his hand and gently rubbed this Mors's head.

How should he put it? Compared to those disgusting fairies, after losing their original hearts and aspirations and turning into a lump of pitch-black Mors that only knew how to infect their own kind, the disgusting smell was gone. After their heads became empty, they were actually much cuter.

The last fairy being infected by the blackness saw this very scene in his final despair. This scene almost made this fairy vomit a mouthful of blood in despair. Why is this High Fairy on such good terms with these Mors? This High Fairy before me doesn't look like a Mors no matter how you look at it!

His brain began to empty, and his body began to be gradually stained by blackness. Soon, he would also become a Mors attacking other fairies, and then be eliminated by the army. But he was still so unwilling...

"Who exactly are you?!"

Looking at the fairy gradually turning into nothingness before him, Aslan revealed a pair of golden eyes.

"Probably... the person who will destroy this Britain."
