She'd timed and planned every action, achieving pure gold, dropping a fist on his face before he touched earth. She screamed with a hand around his neck, punching continuously. And when she wasn't punching, she was headbutting.
There was chaos, the weight of multiple bodies clashing and falling over her, blocking her from punching as fully as she could have liked.
She was dragged across the floor. Never once resisting. She simply stared, her breath light, controlled, waiting to be let her go but it didn't happen, not this time.
She sighed.
"Look, I'm sorry. I lost my cool. I'm back now. I… I just wanted you to know that the head of the man you killed is worth a thousand five hundred Taung gold. The woman's head is worth less but still worth a good number. The child is worthless."
Lindi's eyes widened and her mouth opened.
If glares could cut, Lindi would have disappeared in an explosion of blood.
She shut up, touching her throat defensively.
Fury nodded to Heather.
"I'll be happy as long as you stay away from Blade and he stays away from you. Simple. But this is an interesting turn of events. I have a solution, Blade, Sabre and Hydra will take the fastest road to whatever point we need to get the money and the rest of us will take a slow boat to your home on the condition that we receive you when we get to the Black Air Raider territories. I value my life too much to go all the way alone and you are the only one I trust. You yourself have said killing those not of your kind is a part of your proud history."
"We are friendlier than you would think, welcoming even, just a little quick to offence."
Fury rolled her eyes. She'd known Heather too long to ever come close to believing her.
She extended her hand. They shook to seal the deal. On Heather's knuckles were golden rings, welded together. They were enough to make Fury laugh.
"You Black Air Raiders are a frightening people."
"You have no idea. Qondile, my sword." Heather replied stretching her injured shoulder.
She'd forgotten how bad it was. Her weapon moved to her weaker hand.
