Chapter 68 - The Miracle of Love

The Decision That Could Change Everything

Rain was still pouring down from the sky with all its intensity.

Dark, heavy clouds had completely hidden the moon within their embrace, and every now and then, a sudden flash of lightning illuminated the dark room for a fleeting moment. The very next second, the thunder would roll across the room, filling the silence with its deep, haunting echo.

The night seemed to grow darker with every passing moment.

But that night, it was not only the sky that was restless.

There was a storm raging inside someone's heart as well...

A storm whose noise was far louder than the rain falling outside.

After fighting the exhaustion of the entire day, the uneasiness buried deep inside him, and countless unanswered questions, Ramish had finally surrendered to sleep.

He looked peaceful.

But Richer...

Richer was not at peace.

For a long time, he had been lying quietly, watching Ramish.

There were tears in his eyes, yet he was no longer trying to hold them back.

Tonight, he had heard everything Ramish had perhaps wanted to keep hidden deep within his heart.

That same fear...

That same love...

And that terrible fear that perhaps Richer might one day leave him.

With tear-filled eyes, Richer looked at Ramish.

"Ramish..."

His lips trembled slightly.

"Why are you making all of this so difficult for me?"

He fell silent for a few moments.

"We're both suffering because of this love... but you're the one carrying the greater pain. I don't want that if our love remains incomplete, you spend the rest of your life imprisoned within its memories."

Richer closed his eyes.

But closing his eyes did not silence the questions racing through his mind.

Instead, another memory suddenly came alive before him.

The conversation he had shared with his manager.

They had just come out of the museum.

At that time, Richer had looked unusually happy.

His manager had noticed and smiled.

"You seem very happy today, Richer."

Richer had given him a faint smile and nodded.

"Perhaps... today is a good day."

The manager had remained silent for a few moments before asking,

"Is Ramish the reason for that happiness?"

Richer's footsteps had seemed to stop for a moment.

He had looked at his manager in surprise.

"What kind of question is that?"

His manager had spoken seriously.

"Please don't take this the wrong way, but I want to ask you something. Do you simply like Ramish..."

He had paused.

"...or have you fallen in love with him?"

A faint smile had appeared on Richer's face without him even realizing it.

He had not been able to answer.

And perhaps...

that silence itself had been the answer.

The manager had taken a deep breath.

"I understand."

Then his voice had become even more serious.

"But Richer, you need to think carefully. You are a star. Your future, your career, your reputation... all of it could be affected by this decision."

The smile had slowly disappeared from Richer's face.

His manager had continued,

"And most importantly..."

He had looked directly at Richer.

"There is someone in Thailand waiting for you."

Richer's expression had changed instantly.

A shadow had fallen across his eyes.

"Have you forgotten about that?"

Those words had remained buried in Richer's mind.

Before leaving, his manager had said only one more thing.

"You should think about what I've told you. I don't want to see you get hurt. But sometimes, even when you love someone, choosing to walk away from them can be the better decision."

Those words were still echoing inside Richer's mind.

Richer slowly opened his eyes.

His gaze returned to the sleeping Ramish before him.

"Should I listen to my heart..."

His voice was barely a whisper.

"...or to the reality waiting behind me?"

A tear slipped slowly from the corner of his eye and rolled down his cheek.

He quietly got out of bed and walked over to Ramish.

He sat down on the floor beside him.

For several moments, he simply looked at him.

Then, with a trembling hand, he slowly reached toward Ramish's face.

His fingers came dangerously close...

But at the very last moment, Richer pulled his hand back.

"Ramish..."

His voice broke.

"What am I supposed to do?"

He lowered his face and began to cry quietly.

"If I listen to my heart..."

He looked at Ramish again.

"...I want to stay with you."

His voice trembled.

"But if I listen to reality..."

He swallowed hard.

"...then perhaps I will have to leave you."

Suddenly, Ramish began shifting restlessly in his sleep.

Richer immediately fell silent.

Beads of sweat appeared across Ramish's forehead.

His lips began moving unconsciously.

"Richer..."

Richer froze.

"Don't leave me..."

Ramish whispered in his sleep.

"Please..."

His voice became even weaker.

"Don't leave me..."

Tears began streaming down Richer's face.

He immediately leaned closer and gently ran his fingers through Ramish's hair.

"Ramish..."

His voice was soft and trembling.

"I'm here."

But Ramish seemed to be trapped somewhere deep inside his dream.

"Don't go..."

The helplessness in his voice made Richer's heart tremble.

Richer continued stroking his hair.

"Ramish... I'm right here."

Suddenly, Ramish opened his eyes.

For a few moments, his gaze remained blurred as he stared at the figure before him.

Then, as though slowly realizing that it really was Richer...

he suddenly pulled him into his arms.

Richer held him tightly.

"What happened?"

He gently asked,

"Did you have a bad dream?"

Ramish said nothing for several moments.

Then, in a very quiet voice, he whispered,

"Yes..."

He held Richer even tighter.

"I dreamed that you were leaving me."

Richer's eyelashes became wet again.

He wanted to say it immediately.

"I will never leave you."

But the manager's words echoed inside his mind once again.

Sometimes, even when you love someone, walking away from them can be the better decision.

Richer forced those words down into the deepest corner of his heart.

Instead, he simply whispered,

"Calm down..."

He gently held Ramish.

"I'm here with you."

Ramish looked into his eyes.

As though he were searching those words for a promise about tomorrow.

As though he wanted to know whether I'm here also meant I'll always be here.

But Richer could not give him that promise.

Not yet.

After a few moments, Richer softly said,

"Come on... come and let's lie down on the bed."

Ramish quietly returned to the bed.

Richer lay beside him.

Ramish reached for his hand and held it.

Richer did not pull away.

And after a short while, Ramish fell asleep again.

His face slowly became peaceful.

But sleep remained far away from Richer.

He lay awake, silently staring at the ceiling.

On one side was Ramish's hand, still resting inside his hand.

And on the other...

stood his entire future, transformed into one enormous question.

Slowly, Richer turned toward Ramish.

He looked at his sleeping face for a long time.

Then whispered,

"When I look at you..."

His voice was almost lost in the darkness.

"...I forget everything else in the world."

He paused.

"But when I think about being away from you..."

His eyes filled with tears.

"...even breathing becomes difficult."

One tear escaped and fell silently onto the pillow.

Outside, the rain had begun to soften.

The clouds slowly began to part.

And through the darkness, the faint light of the moon appeared once again.

But the darkness inside Richer's heart remained.

He tightened his hold around Ramish's hand.

Then, in a trembling whisper, he said,

"I don't know what decision I'll make tomorrow..."

His eyes remained fixed on Ramish.

"But tonight..."

His voice shook.

"Tonight, just let me stay beside you."

Ramish remained completely unaware, lost in sleep.

He had no idea that the hand he was holding for comfort was the very same hand Richer was already terrified of having to let go.

The night continued to pass.

The rain eventually stopped.

The clouds slowly scattered across the sky.

But inside Richer's heart, two voices continued to battle each other.

One voice whispered:

Stay with Ramish.

The other insisted:

Leave him... before this love creates a storm that destroys both your lives.

And between those two voices...

Richer remained silent.

He did not know which one to follow.

He did not know whether love was supposed to be held onto...

or sacrificed.

But somewhere within that painful silence...

a decision was beginning to take shape.

A decision that would not merely change his life.

It might change Ramish's life forever.

And perhaps neither of them was ready for what tomorrow would bring.
