Chapter 18 - The Creed of the Collective

When the ship had made started the jump to the system where we were going to have the next battle, I noticed that all the warrior robots were already in the loading bay of the vessel. Even though I still sometimes missed being Terran and have flesh on my body I do have to admit that The Fulkore Collective seems to be getting things done at a much more efficient pace than the Terrans would have.

"Remember since you have joined The Fulkore Collective you are not a single individual; you have become a single cell in the collective's united mind. There are some perks that come with that." A male robot that I had assigned the task of helping the Terrans that were new to the collective both accept and understand what this means said.

I watch as he pointed a small black blaster that was in his right hand at his left hand and fired at it. the blast was of cryonic energy and his hand froze and fell apart. The excess part fell into a pile of scrap at his feet. A few moments passed, then his hand started to regenerate.

It was then that I noticed everyone become amazed at what they could achieve in these new robotic bodies.

Sense it seemed as if the guy I had put in charge of them had it under control so I made my way to the section of our loading bay that had all the fighters stored for battle.

"Are you still working on that prototype fighter that Sid?" I asked the person who was underneath a fighter.

"Yes, I still am having trouble installing the Paradisus power source. I just know that if I can fix the converter that we will have a massive lead over all other races in space combat mobility." He said to me as I saw his right shift from a set of tools into a metal hand.

"Well, all jokes aside, I need to know how many fighters are ready for combat because we are going to need to go into combat very soon against at least three other races.

"Well, I have thirty of the DXB-45's, ten of the SC-2's, and twenty-two of the Arc-290's." he said to make as he grabbed a data pad that was sitting on a crate that was in front of the nose of the fighter.

"Have you contacted the head engineers of our fleet to see what is fixed on their ships?"

"I have, but they are not as far along with repairs as I am so most of the ships in this upcoming battle will be coming from your ship."

"Well, you need too…." Then I heard a beep on my wrist. "Sorry I have to take this".

Then as I turned around and activated the blinking blue light on my right wrist. As I did, I saw a projection of the person that was running the bridge of the ship.

"I thought that you want to know that we have gathered some intel about what is happening on the planet below before we arrive".

"What is it!? Spit it out because we do not have much time until we arrive on the world where we are going to have to go to combat against multiple races as the same time."

"You should know that all the people that went down to the world all died at a location at the center of the main continent of the world."

"What do you think that could possibly be?" I asked him as I started to walk towards the elevator so that I could get back to the bridge and check the galaxy map for anything that might give us an advantage of any kind on this world.

"I also thought that you would want to know what Terran house will be arriving here."

"Which house is it?" I asked as I stopped moving because what I did next.

I saw him look at a tablet that was in his right hand, and then he looked up at me. "It is Xenloo."

As soon as I heard that name, I stopped and turned around because I could feel the rage inside of me beginning to rise.

You need to calm down. We must keep our emotions in check; remember that you are not Terran anymore. Emotions are a weakness that we do not have.

Even though I usually did not agree with him, but I knew that he was right. My lack of control will allow my emotions to overwhelm me, and that is something that I cannot allow.

No matter how hard I tried to suppress or eliminate the rage that I was feeling I could feel it boiling inside me as if it was going to explode at any moment.

I rushed back over to where the mechanic was at still repairing that experimental ship of his. "I will be joining the space battle against the Terrans".

"What do you mean? As our leader your life is too important to our survival for you to just throw your life away." He said to me in an enraged tone as he rose to his feet and approached me waving his hand at me.

"I am going to lead the attack on the Terran fleet". As the leader of The Fulkore Collective I will be leading this attack and our priority will be to wipe out the Terran who betrayed me as soon as I opened the vault in that ruin."

"Okay don't blow a circuit. I was just letting you know why I thought about it." he said toas he altered the information on his data pad. "There I fixed it for you exalted leader and founder of our faction in this never-ending war."

"He seems to have a few circuits loose being so worried about me". I said as I walked away from him and into a room for the leaders of each of the vessels in my fleet to meet before we went to battle.

The room was locked and could only be accessed by a certain set magnetic signatures to ensure that certain members of the collective could access it.

It is only logical for a follower to be concerned if their leader is rushing to his death because of something as Terran as vengeance.

"As an ai you would not understand what I feel when I hear his name!" I said out of rage as I opened the locked door.

If you cannot keep your emotions in check, I will take control of our body if only to ensure that we do not do stupid things.

"I will keep myself in check for now, but when we get onto the world below, I have a feeling that you are going to have to take control so that you can utilize all our optional since you have a better understanding of our robot anatomy."

Fine I will remain as an observer for now, but if I feel as if you are beginning to be totally consumed by your emotions, I will forcefully take control.

I walked into the room and I noticed that this room was made of a different type of metal than the rest of the ship. It was made of a harder black metal that had silver cords running throughout the ship. This was because of this was a center where I could connect with the entire fleet by simply connecting a cord to the lower area of the backside of my neck.

As the door shut behind me, I made my way to the only chair in room and connected myself with the cord. When I did, I felt a rush of energy that supercharged my circuits to where my sensors had triple their normal reach.

Then I could sense that there were other members of the collective that were also super charged now. They were the robots that I had put in charge of the other vessels.

"Council meeting chamber." I said, and as I did a halo projection of a seven-sided star shaped table showed up in front of me, and then after that I started to see projection of different members of my collective at each end of the table.

"You called us for a meeting before this very large battle that we will have against these many different factions." The robot to my left said as he looked at me.

"Yes, I did. I want each of you to lead a squad of fighters against a different race. Also have your engineers prepare a nano capsule at each of their leading vessels." I told all them as I looked at all of them.

"So, they are all ready for their first field test. What possible uses do they have against our enemies if they are robotic?" the projection across from me asked making it clear that he doubted that it would even work.

"These nanites we begin the process of getting to their ship's ai and devour it. that is not all after that it will begin the process of assimilation and if they don't stop it fast enough their entire will become ours within twenty galactic minutes.

All will be assimilated into our collective. We are here to unite the galaxy under one banner and rid it of the weakness and imperfection of flesh."

"I can agree with that logical approach" all the people in the meeting said in unison.

It seems that you and I agree on this. You are starting to embrace the role of being the leader of an ai empire. There may be hope for us to achieve our goal of a galactic sized assimilation after all.
