Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: The Cutest Voice, the Harshest Words

When Sato turned on the light, the bright glow illuminated the dark room, revealing everything inside.

"Oh!!"

Kanna widened her eyes as she looked at everything in the room. Her ocean-blue eyes sparkled with bright light.

"Come on, Kanna, change into these slippers here."

"Oh!"

Though she didn't quite understand, Kanna followed Sato and changed into a pair of oversized slippers at the entrance.

"Well, these are the only ones I have. Just make do for now." Sato couldn't help but smile when he saw the slippers on her small feet.

"Mm!"

Kanna lowered her head to look at the big slippers she was wearing, wiggling her toes inside them.

"Alright, let's go in."

"Meow!"

As the two walked into the living room, the two cats lying on the low table both lifted their heads, their lively eyes curiously watching Kanna, the unfamiliar visitor.

"Magical beasts!"

Kanna pointed at the two cats on the table.

Under the light, their eyes reflected colorful glints.

"These are cats. Pets!"

"Cats!"

Kanna cupped her little face with her hands, staring at the two cats without blinking, letting out a small exclamation.

"So cute!"

"Yeah, very cute. The big one is called Chocola, and the smaller one is called Vanilla."

"They look delicious."

"Maybe… wait, what?!"

Sato suddenly reacted. He turned and crouched down, placing his hands on Kanna's shoulders, reminding her seriously, "Kanna, don't always think about eating. You can't eat family!"

"Not just them. Aside from food, you're not allowed to eat anything else!"

"Got it?"

"Mm!"

Seeing the blue-eyed young dragon nod, Sato finally let out a sigh of relief. But soon he became curious again and asked, "Kanna, since you don't want to live with Kobayashi, why do you want to stay with me?"

Kanna looked at him blankly. "Sato buys me food!"

"Hmm? That's it?"

Sato couldn't help but laugh. Was it really enough to lure a blue-eyed young dragon from another world with just a meal?

Kanna seemed to think for a moment, then tilted her head and looked at him. "Sato… is strong!"

Strong?

A hint of surprise flashed in Sato's eyes. So Kanna could sense that?

Thinking about it, it made sense. In legends, dragons were a race that revered battle, strength, and treasure. They believed in the strong above all and respected power.

Even though Kanna was just a young dragon, she still had dragon blood in her. It wasn't hard to understand why she acknowledged someone stronger than herself like Sato.

And in her eyes, Kobayashi was just an ordinary human who had "taken Tohru-sama away," so naturally she couldn't accept her.

Sato sat on the sofa, and the two cats jumped into his lap one after the other, meowing as they sought affection.

He stroked their heads and thought for a moment.

Based on his understanding of the Hero Association, after conducting a series of checks on Kanna tomorrow, they would probably ask him, as the one who found her, whether he was willing to take her in.

After all, he was Kanna's discoverer, the person she acknowledged, and one of the sixty-three S-class powerhouses in the world. The Hero Association would not ignore his stance.

This blue-eyed young dragon did eat a lot, but she was actually quite cute…

And aside from Tohru, she didn't know anyone here. It wouldn't be wrong to say she had no one to rely on.

There was no way he would hand over such a cute, slightly airheaded blue-eyed young dragon to the Hero Association.

What worried him most was that if he did hand her over, she might be exploited by someone with ulterior motives. Not everyone in this world was good, and a dragon's potential power was terrifying. It would easily attract greedy eyes.

But if he took her in…

"Kanna, what do you plan to do here from now on?"

He suddenly asked.

"Take Tohru-sama back!"

Kanna answered without hesitation.

"Then… how do you plan to do that?"

"After I recover my strength, I'll use dragon breath to eliminate her."

Kanna said expressionlessly.

"…"

Sato couldn't help clicking his tongue. Was this what it meant to say the harshest words in the cutest voice?

Still, there were some rules he had to make clear to Kanna now. If he waited until something happened, it would already be too late.

"Kanna-chan, using dragon breath is absolutely forbidden! If you use it, you'll be expelled from this world!"

"Expelled?"

Kanna shrank back slightly, as if she already had some trauma associated with that word.

"That's right. You must remember, if you want to stay in this world, you have to follow its rules."

"First, you must never harm humans or destroy buildings."

"Second, you must never reveal your true form."

"Third…"

"Third, don't eat just anything. You can only eat food!"

"If you can do all this, you can stay here…"

"Will Sato drive me away?"

Kanna looked up at him blankly.

"Well…"

Sato frowned slightly as he looked at her. In the end, he sighed and nodded seriously.

Without rules, nothing stands. If he waited until after something happened, it would be too late.

"Kanna understands!"

Kanna nodded and agreed to the conditions.

Sato smiled, then thought for a moment. "Since you'll be staying at my place, you'll need an identity. Let me think about what to set for you…"

A distant relative's younger sister?

That wouldn't work… his second brother's family lived upstairs. They would know better than him about any distant relatives.

"Kanna, remember this. Your identity is Tohru's younger sister. Since it's inconvenient for you to stay upstairs, you'll be staying with me, got it?"

"Mm!"

Seeing Kanna nod seriously, Sato couldn't help but smile.

"Alright, it's getting late. Go take a bath first. Use my clothes for tonight, and I'll buy you new ones tomorrow."

"A bath?"

The blue-eyed young dragon tilted her head, looking at him in confusion.
