Chapter 272 - If you thought this couldn’t get any more chaotic… you were wrong. Part 2

If you thought this couldn't get any more chaotic… you were wrong.

Part 2

Booom.

Boom.

Explosions erupted across the entire arena while roots burst out of the ground like enormous serpents that seemed determined to destroy everything.

The arena floor no longer resembled what it had looked like during the previous trials of the other champions. Now it was completely deformed, shattered, covered in plants, roots, and branches growing wildly out of control. Suddenly, a tree erupted from the very center of the arena and rose almost to the sky. Within seconds, its leaves began to sprout and spread at an impossible speed, as if everyone were watching a growth that should have taken years happen live before their eyes.

A deep forest scent spread throughout the place, fresh and damp, while pollen from the plants slowly began drifting through the air.

People didn't even have time to react. They could only stand there with their mouths open, completely stunned by what the hell they were witnessing.

The worst.

Or maybe the best.

Well… they didn't really have time to think about that either.

The champion facing all of this chaos ran across the arena, dodging the roots that lunged at him as if trying to trap him. As he ran, he pulled small glass vials filled with liquids of different colors from his clothes and smashed them against his own hands. Each impact triggered violent explosions that destroyed the roots trying to reach him.

Now, to understand how all of this had turned into a battle that nobody could truly comprehend, we basically need to go back a few minutes. Right to the moment when everything spiraled out of control to a completely unimaginable level.

Harry looked toward Terra.

No… Titania.

The queen of the fairies watched him closely, a gentle smile resting on her lips. She floated a few centimeters above the ground while flowers grew rapidly around her presence, as if nature itself were awakening simply because she was there.

In contrast, Harry stood there with an almost absurd calmness, like a normal boy looking a god straight in the face. The forced smile he directed at the beautiful fairy was honestly quite amusing.

"Well… this… you took my wand, so…" Harry tried to reason.

"But you still have the magic you inherited from your mother, don't you?" Terra said calmly.

"Well, I was thinking of getting through the trials without using chaos magic. I think that would be a bit of cheating for me," Harry replied casually.

"Is that so?" Terra said, tilting her head slightly, as if she could see right through Harry with absolute ease.

But Harry remained completely unfazed.

Suddenly, Terra moved her staff.

Instantly, a root shot out from the ground straight toward Harry.

Harry stepped to the side, dodging it with precision. But the root changed direction almost instantly and lunged at him again, trying to wrap around him. Harry ducked and spun quickly, avoiding it with ease.

Then another root burst from the ground, aiming straight for his feet.

Harry jumped, placed one hand on the very root trying to grab him, and spun through the air over it, evading both attacks at the same time.

As he landed, he moved his hand toward the castle and seemed to murmur something.

Then he crouched slightly, dodging two more roots that tried to snatch his shoulder.

From that position, he raised his right hand toward the roots and, focusing completely, murmured,

"Diffindo."

Immediately, an invisible slash cut through the flying roots, slicing them cleanly apart as they fell to the ground.

"Avis!" he shouted next, raising his hand toward the sky.

At once, a large flock of birds appeared, swirling around him and covering his body completely, blocking the view entirely.

While the crowd watched in shock at Harry's use of wandless magic, some, like Flitwick, couldn't help but clap excitedly. Others managed to notice that, from the direction of the castle, something was flying straight toward the arena at terrifying speed.

Terra saw it as well.

But she did nothing.

She simply let out a faint smile before turning her gaze toward the birds hiding Harry. Obviously, the boy was buying time while waiting for whatever it was he had summoned to arrive.

"Fiiii…"

Terra blew softly.

A small whistle slipped from her lips, a sound as pure and beautiful as a bird's song.

The effect was immediate.

The birds Harry had summoned trembled in the air and, in an instant, flew upward toward the sky, clearing the arena's view once again.

Harry opened his eyes as a faint smile appeared on his face upon seeing how easily his own summons had betrayed him. But at least they had given him enough time for what he was preparing.

He raised his hand toward the object flying toward him.

"Cistem Aperio!" Harry shouted.

Then everyone could finally see more clearly that what was approaching was a chest, and with that enchantment it burst open mid-flight.

Immediately, all kinds of strange objects began falling onto the arena. Among them were materials of every sort: metals, plates, plants, small vials filled with liquids of strange colors, and other pieces that no one could immediately identify.

Harry started running toward the nearest objects.

Meanwhile, Terra raised her staff gently.

Suddenly, many more roots burst out of the ground; more than a dozen of them rising at the same time. All of them moved straight toward Harry with the clear intention of trapping him.

Harry didn't slow down.

He ducked, jumped, and dodged the roots with surprising synchronization. Maybe he didn't have the same speed or elegance Luciel had shown earlier, but everyone could notice something different about his style.

Harry seemed to be controlling the space around him.

His eyes moved quickly, analyzing every point of the terrain as he calculated each movement.

And he dodged at the perfect moment.

Harry managed to grab three vials from the ground before stopping abruptly. He placed one between his teeth while watching the roots begin to form a circle around him, slowly closing in, ready to trap him.

Then Harry took the two vials he held in each hand and slammed them together.

At the same time, he lifted his head and drank the one in his mouth in a single gulp.

When the two liquids in his hands mixed, a thick green mist spread almost instantly, like a cloud of powder exploding outward.

The plants that had been about to capture him suddenly stopped.

Then they began to dry out.

First slowly.

Then faster and faster.

At a shocking speed, as if something were draining every drop of liquid from their bodies. Within seconds, the roots began to crack, splitting apart as they withered.

Terra frowned slightly when she saw that.

There was a small hint of irritation in her expression.

Her eyes turned toward Harry, who was standing in the center of the green cloud, looking directly at her while picking up several other materials from the ground around him.

"So that's how you want to play, little Harry," Terra said as her smile slowly changed. What had once been a sweet expression now became something more dominant.

"Well… I don't really like destroying the environment, but…" Harry began.

He didn't get to finish the sentence.

Suddenly, a massive tree erupted from the center of the arena and began growing right in front of him. At the same time, the roots that had dried out earlier seemed to regain life.

Their green color returned.

But now they looked even thicker and stronger than before.

And even though the green mist was still drying them out, they also seemed to be regenerating at the same time.

"Hahaha…"

Harry let out a small, forced laugh.

But there was something different in his eyes.

A slight excitement.

While speaking, he was already placing another vial filled with a strange liquid between his teeth.
