FA Cup Fourth Round: Crawley Town vs. Barnsley
The dressing room was quiet at half-time.
The score was 1–1. Thiago had put Crawley ahead with a volley in the 23rd minute, but Barnsley's striker had equalised before the break.
The players sat around the room, tired and covered in mud and sweat. Outside, the 12,800 fans were still making plenty of noise.
Niels stood in front of them.
They had spent the first half competing with a team two divisions above them. Barnsley had caused problems, but Crawley had shown they could hurt them too.
For a moment, Niels thought about his old FIFA games and the Cup matches he'd played through in 2025. He remembered changing formations and tactics whenever a game wasn't going his way.
But this wasn't a game on a screen.
These players were depending on him now.
