Chapter 42: Wycombe First

The training ground was covered in frost the next morning.
Niels watched the players go through their warm-ups. It was cold enough that everyone could see their breath.
Tomorrow's game against Wycombe was important. Crawley were sitting seventh in League Two and needed to keep picking up points.
But there was something else on everyone's mind.
The FA Cup draw.
The squad gathered in the tactics room. Max, Luka, Korey, Dev, Nate, Jamal, Tom, Reece, Fletcher, Thiago and Baxter sat around the room. Toby, Ilyas and Kieron stood near the wall.
A radio was playing in the background while the BBC went through the draw.
Then the presenter announced it.
"Crawley Town will face... Burnley, away."
The room went quiet.
Burnley were a Premier League side.
Korey was the first to speak.
"Premier League? We'll give them a game."
Max nodded.
"We've beaten bigger teams already."
Thiago looked around the room.
"Big game. Big heart."
