Chapter 230: Planning Ahead

The morning passed slowly for Niels as he waited at his office. The squad had the day off, resting after the physical and mental toll of yesterday's match.
For most of the players, it was a quiet reprieve, but for Niels, every minute brought tension as he replayed Reece's heroic clearance in his mind.
A soft knock on the doorframe pulled him from his thoughts. Thomas stepped out with tablet in hand, his expression neutral but serious.
"He's finished with the scans," Thomas said. "We have the results."
Niels straightened, gripping the edge of the chair. "Alright. Give it to me straight."
Thomas exhaled slowly. "The X-rays are clear. There are no fractures. That's the good news."
Niels allowed himself a short nod, relief flickering in his chest.
