I sat on my bed with my eyes tightly shut, while my hands wrapped around my body in a tight hug.
It was happening again. Not cold. Not a fever. But the pain I get whenever my mates are with someone else. Although I clenched my teeth and muscles, it didn't stop the pain, or reduce it.
With my eyes tightly shut, I could still feel Cedric's presence in the room, and his eyes boring into my skin.
"Luna," he called, his voice low and sympathetic. The pain had subsided for a while, but my eyes were shut still.
I waited for a few more seconds then I slowly opened my eyes, breathing heavily.
"Is it over now?" Cedric asked, kneeling down beside the bed.
I waited for a few beats before I nodded. But pain shot through my neck the next instant, and sent painful sparks to my brain.
My hands came on the spot before I realized what was happening, and my eyes shut close once more.
