The hospital had grown unusually quiet.
Most of the corridors were empty.
Only the occasional footsteps of nurses and the soft hum of medical equipment disturbed the silence.
Outside the large glass windows, the city lights shimmered peacefully beneath the night sky.
Miles sat alone in the hospital lounge.
A paper cup of coffee rested untouched beside him.
His eyes remained fixed on the floor.
His grandfather had opened his eyes.
Only for a few moments.
But those few moments had changed everything.
The sound of approaching footsteps slowly echoed through the hallway.
Miles looked up.
A familiar face appeared.
His tense expression finally relaxed.
"Doc."
Dr. Reyes smiled warmly as he walked over.
"Hello, Boss."
Miles stood up.
"You being here makes my heart feel a lot lighter."
Reyes chuckled.
"I came as soon as I finished reviewing his medical files."
"I checked everything on the way."
He confidently adjusted his glasses.
"He is definitely going to wake up."
