The last few words, Ethan swallowed them back for the sake of his dignity. Even so, his chest ached with anger.
"Dad, I want to find out the truth," James Reed said despondently, his whole demeanor listless and lacking energy.
"You..." Ethan wanted to scold him a bit more, but seeing James in this state, he just couldn't bring himself to do it.
In the end, he could only fling his hand and turn to leave.
Charlotte Reed made sure Ethan had left, closed the door, and then asked in a low voice, "James, what exactly is going on? How did it get to this point?"
Clearly before leaving this morning, James had subtly nodded to her, didn't that mean everything was arranged and there was no problem?
