Charles Seymour allowed Sophie Wilson to pinch his cheeks, making all sorts of funny faces, and he didn't move.
It wasn't until he saw Sophie pouting that he chuckled, kissed her palm gently, and said softly, "Okay."
"You're fine now," Charles confirmed.
He was telling Sophie and also reassuring himself.
"I'll go back to work tomorrow," Charles said.
"Mm." Sophie nodded happily, then heard Charles say, "Let's get married in mid-October."
Sophie froze for a moment, then smiled, "Sure."
As soon as Sophie finished speaking, it was Charles who stood there dumbfounded, completely stiff in place.
This adorable silly look made Sophie burst out laughing and she tugged on his ear, asking with a mock sigh, "What's wrong? Don't want to marry me? If you don't want to then..."
"Don't even think about backing out! It's settled!" Charles quickly cut off Sophie's words; he finally could marry Sophie, he wouldn't let her take back what she just said.
"Alright," Sophie laughed.
