Ji Bubai saw Shen Sui first draw a Sacrificial Puppet and was momentarily stunned.
In a Life Card Duel, there are no advanced summons, nor any bizarre forms like Link Summon or Xyz Summon, so Ji Bubai couldn't understand Shen Sui's intention in leading with a Sacrificial Puppet.
Then he saw Shen Sui draw a card from his hand:
"When I have a Follower on the field, I can activate the Spell Card [Wilderness March] from my hand."
"Because I have 5 Followers on the field, I can send the top five cards of my deck to the graveyard to activate it, allowing you to send an equal number of Life Cards from the top of your deck to the graveyard," Shen Sui pointed at Ji Bubai as he spoke.
Following this, Shen Sui drew another Spell Card [Puppet Creation] from his hand, discarded a card, then selected a Puppet Follower Card from his deck to add to his hand.
Shen Sui sent Martina to the graveyard.
