After Lawrence Winters resigned and returned home, he first went to the hospital to talk with Gabrielle Winters and Nick Zeller about his situation.
"Mom, Dad, I quit my job today." He sat between them with a cheerful smile, holding Gabrielle's hand in one and Nick's in the other, "From now on, I'm officially part of the 'living off the parents' club!"
Gabrielle chuckled, gently tapping his forehead, "What nonsense are you talking about? Even if you don't work, our family can support you. But do you really not want to work anymore? I thought you were quite happy at that company."
"Yeah, I was happy. But in the end, it's someone else's company. No matter how well I do, I'm still exploited for surplus value." Lawrence joked, "So I decided to work for myself! To earn my own surplus value!"
