Did Soldier really squat there all afternoon just because of what she said?
The more Aurelia Shaw thought about it, the guiltier she felt. When she was almost at Soldier's side, her feet suddenly felt like they'd been filled with lead and froze in place. With Soldier's round eyes staring at her intently, she was even more unable to move an inch.
Aurelia stared at Soldier's expectant gaze, then braced herself and backed away. She could already imagine how disappointed the dog behind her would be, but she really couldn't help it—she was scared of dogs, really scared, so scared it was off the charts.
Aurelia almost ran straight into Mama Rong.
"Oh my little ancestor, what's with you? Rushing out in such a hurry and then running right back?" Mama Rong asked.
Aurelia suddenly grabbed Mama Rong's hand, pressed her lips together, finding it a bit hard to say, "Mama Rong, help me chase Soldier away."
