These statues are not animated, or rather they can be animated at any time. In each enclosed independent storage space, many imprisoned creatures can be seen, some are mutants, some are strange creatures, and some remnants have the aura of an Evil Object, but they have all been completely petrified.
The group also didn't know how long they had been walking.
