After Su Jin made a Dao Oath, Xai Lin took out a flying treasure ship that was around a hundred meters long.
The moment Su Jin saw it his eyes went wide from shock.
The flying ship itself seemed to be made of a type of black iron material, that was giving off a rather chilling aura. Its outer surface had dense runic symbols carved onto it, while inside, there was a pavilion-like structure in the middle, where there were rooms for people to rest. Judging by its size, it should be able to comfortably hold around a dozen people, while being able to squeeze in at least two dozen people inside.
Su Jin was not only shocked by the fact that this entire flying ship looked to be a top-grade treasure made from a single piece of natural heaven and earth material he couldn't recognized, but also by the fact that the person could afford to create it so impractically. Of course, it was exquisitely made, and one couldn't help but marvel at its craftsmanship, but it still seemed wasteful.
However, after claiming it was wasteful in his heart, Su Jin couldn't help but start feeling a bit jealous, while also lamenting his misfortune of not being born into whatever power could casually dish out such a treasure for their younger generation. Heavens know what he would do to be able to work with this type of material.
But with all of that said, was he not going to benefit from such a person now that he had shamelessly tag along?
Su Jin immediately began praising himself internally for his decision to follow these two, especially Xai Lin.
With utmost excitement, he dashed up to the deck of the flying ship and came face-to-face with the pavilion-like structure situated in the center of the ship. Only by standing this close did he fully understand how exquisite it was built.
Its four-story structure was like a stable thousand-year-old mountain that had weathered many storms, yet its appearance did not have an ancient feeling. Rather, it looked like it was design using craftsmanship techniques from this last century.
Su Jin gave this evaluation because it lacked those ostentatious and overly complicated carvings on its beams and pillars that other pavilions usually had. Instead, it only had the design of a plum blossom tree, which had its trunk carved on the wooden doors of the first floor, while its branches spread upward, and outward to encapsulate the entire pavilion.
Even on the few steps leading up to the first floor's front doors, Su Jin could see what looked like the plum blossom tree's root-system, spreading out before fading away by the time it reached the ship's deck below his feet.
After observing for a moment, Su Jin came to a sudden realization that the person who crafted this had the intention of placing this plum blossom tree as the central piece, while having the pavilion and flying ship itself as background pieces.
From this perspective, it looked like the pavilion was formed from the plum blossom tree's branches, while the ship itself was formed from its root-system.
"This ship was created using the body of a hundred-thousand-year-old plum blossom tree."
Xai Lin's voice sounded from behind Su Jin, interrupting his thoughts.
Su Jin quickly turned to look at Xai Lin and blushed slightly.
"I—Uh…"
Su Jin wanted to speak, but he didn't know how to address this mysterious girl in front of him for a moment.
Xai Lin chuckled, and said.
"Just called me Xai Lin. You can also call him An Mo; he and I are Dao Companions."
Xai Lin pointed behind her at An Mo, who was curiously sticking his head over the edge of the ship to observe how it was floating above the island.
"Mhm, Elder Sister Xai Lin, Elder Brother An Mo."
Su Jin softly called out, his chubby cheeks still a bit red.
An Mo, having heard his name being called, hopped over to stand next to Xai Lin. He then looked Su Jin up and down, before nodding his head casually. This was his way of accepting the fact that Su Jin would be with him and Xai Lin for the foreseeable future.
Afterward, An Mo turned his attention to the pavilion ahead, his eyes lighting up with curiosity.
While An Mo ran off to look around, Xai Lin also turned her attention to the pavilion, and made small talk with Su Jin.
"Are you curious about this flying treasure?"
Su Jin's eyes lit up, and he nodded like a chicken pecking rice before saying.
"The person who refined this treasure is likely an outstanding Artifact Refiner at the 7th Rank! Even on our Su Continent, a 7th Rank Weapon Artifact Refiner is rare, and even then, they can barely manage to refine a mid-level Top-grade treasure, much less a high-level Top-grade treasure like this!"
Similar to Alchemists, Weapon Artifact Refiners grades are usually tied to their cultivation realms. 1st Rank to 3rd Rank are those in the Spiritual Qi Realms, while 4th to 5th Rank are those in the Soul Realms.
For Artifact Refiners at the 1st Rank to the 3rd Rank, they can refine low-level, mid-level, and high-level Low-grade Spirit Treasures. While 4th Rank to 6th Rank Artifact Refiners can refine low-level to high-level Mid-grade Spirit Treasures respectively.
Above those ranks are 7th Rank Artifact Refiners, who can refine low-level to high-level Top-grade Spirit Treasures. As for Weapon Artifact Refiners above the 7th Rank, actually, until now, no one had managed to reach that level. But it was not only for Artifact Refiners, even Alchemists at the 8th and 9th Rank have never appeared in the Human Race before.
Though there were rumors in the cultivation world that said only when one achieved Ascension and become an Immortal can one refine a Spirit Treasure or medicinal pill above the Top-grade, because at that point they are considered to be Immortal Treasures and Immortal Pills.
As for those Immortal Sects and Clans who had someone who achieve Ascension in either Alchemy or Artifact Refining, what that actually meant was someone who cultivated to become a Rank 7 Alchemist or Weapon Artifact Refiner.
However, this was only a general outline of these professions. The world of cultivation was so huge with a history that spanned hundreds of thousands of years. Who is to say a genius hadn't popped up in the river of time that defied all common sense to refine Rank 4 pills or treasures, while only being in the Spiritual Qi Realms? They might have even been able to create Rank 7 pills or treasures while only being in the Soul Realms, instead of being at the required Body Integration Realm.
But with that said, no such figure had ever been recorded in history, so these general descriptions of these professions have become absolute in the minds of cultivators in the Human Race.
However, even if one had profound knowledge of these levels, being able to identify the rank of a treasure or a pill that was far above your level of mastery and cultivation, meant that your talent in this area wasn't just high, but abnormal to a certain degree.
Given this was the case, needless to say that Xai Lin had to give Su Jin a couple more looks, while barely concealing the astonishment in her eyes.
"Do you have any interest in Artifact Refining?"
Xai Lin voice the doubt that was rising in her heart at this moment.
"Ah… I-I do have some interest in it, but I wanted to focus on my cultivation, so I haven't truly delved into Artifact Refining until now."
The doubt in Xai Lin's heart grew even more as she looked at Su Jin and asked cautiously.
"Then how far have you reached? Are you purely studying the theory of Artifact Refining, or have you trained to become a ranked Artifact Refiner?"
