Chapter 2 – A Brother's Gift
Two years later
Kai sat high in the sky, surrounded by clouds, completely still as if the air itself obeyed his command.
Two years had passed since the awakening of his powers, and he had grown absurdly stronger. His golden eyes scanned the vast horizon while his mind wandered into deep thought.
"Two years since I awakened... my strength has increased more than I could've imagined," he muttered, his voice calm but sharp.
— "Status."
A transparent screen materialized in front of him like a high-tech display embedded in the air itself:
---
Status
Name: Kai Midoriya
Bloodline: Evolving Superman
Power 1: Supreme Adaptation and Evolution
Power 2: Wife and Subordinate Contract
Strength: 10,000 tons
Speed: 10x the speed of sound
Defense: Immune to high-caliber firearms
Abilities: Flight, Steel Body, Super Speed, Biological Field, Super Senses (Awakened)
---
Kai dismissed the status screen with a thought, letting the data vanish like mist.
"My power has grown exponentially. Crushing a B-Rank hero now would be child's play… and I'm only five years old," he mused, with a smirk that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Before he could sink deeper into thought, his mother's voice echoed from below, slicing through the sky.
— "KAI!!" Inko called from the backyard.
Kai sighed. With a subtle tilt of his body, he darted downwards, tearing through the clouds at supersonic speed before decelerating gracefully onto the porch. Not a single gust of wind disturbed the flowers nearby — he had mastered his movement to surgical precision.
— "What is it, Mom? I was just enjoying the sun," he said, his tone neutral.
— "Today's the day we take your little brother to the hospital. They'll check his Quirk."
Kai's eyes moved to the living room, where Izuku stood in his All Might costume — tiny, naive, and smiling.
— "Right," Kai replied, a sigh escaping him. "I'll go get ready."
He turned and entered his room, closing the door behind him. As he changed his clothes, his mind sharpened.
"So… it's finally time for little Deku to have his dreams shattered by cold reality. Still, considering this world is a fusion of so many others, maybe… just maybe… he'll awaken something. This version of reality plays by different rules."
With that thought, they left for the hospital — Kai walking beside Inko and Izuku, his presence oddly calm for a five-year-old.
---
At the hospital…
The doctor stared at the medical scans, his face neutral but clearly tense. After a pause, he turned to Inko with the weight of inevitability.
— "I'm sorry to say this… but your younger son has no Quirk."
The words hit the room like a thunderclap.
Izuku's small fists clenched around the hem of his shirt. His eyes filled with tears that he tried to hold back, his lower lip trembling.
— "So... I'll never become a hero?" he whispered.
Inko pulled him into her arms, holding him tightly. She whispered comforting words, but even Kai could tell her voice lacked hope. She was trying to protect what little spirit remained in her youngest son.
Kai, standing beside them, remained silent. His eyes scanned Izuku's frame, watching the boy's world break apart.
"Not even in this hybrid universe… you still weren't lucky, huh, brother?"
As they walked out of the hospital, Inko tried to cheer Izuku up by buying his favorite ice cream, handing it to him with a soft smile. The little boy forced a grin, but it didn't reach his eyes.
Kai watched quietly, his mind already calculating.
"I suppose… it wouldn't hurt to give him 1% of my power through the Subordinate Contract. It's not a copy; it's a link. I can cut it off anytime if needed."
Once they arrived home, Kai turned to his mother.
— "Mom, can we talk in the living room? It's important."
His tone was firm, more adult than childlike. Inko, sensing something unusual, nodded and sat down with Izuku in her lap.
Kai stood before them, his face serious and cold.
— "Mom… I have two Quirks."
Inko blinked, confused at first. She nodded slowly.
— "Okay… but why mention that now?"
— "Because my second Quirk is a contract ability. I can share a portion of my power — exactly 1% — with someone, without weakening myself. I want to give some of that power to Izuku."
Inko's eyes widened.
— "But… won't that affect you?"
— "No. It's not a clone or a drain. It's a shared connection. I keep full control. If it ever becomes a problem, I can break it."
Inko turned to Izuku, whose eyes were shining with cautious hope.
— "Do you want that, Izuku?" she asked gently.
The boy looked at his brother — then at his mother — and nodded with all the courage his small heart could muster.
Kai walked forward, placing his hand on Izuku's forehead.
"Subordinate Contract — Activate."
A golden glow surrounded Izuku for a moment… then he collapsed.
Inko gasped, rushing to catch him.
— "He's okay," Kai said, his tone flat but calm. "His body's adjusting to the power. It'll pass."
Inko looked at him, still uneasy, but slowly nodded. She could feel it — Kai wasn't lying.
He continued:
— "From now on, we'll keep this between us. No one else needs to know Izuku has power. Not yet."
Inko's maternal instincts told her the world would not be kind to children with strange gifts. She understood the risks.
And now… she understood Kai wasn't a child anymore — not really.
She looked at her older son — his posture, his calm, his command of every situation — and silently realized that Kai wasn't growing up to be a hero.
He was becoming something else entirely.
