Chapter 421 - Chapter 421: From Now On, There Will Be No More Dimensional Rifts (Final)

The perspective shifts to Little Herta. After passing through the mirror, she finds herself in a bizarre place—a true void, utterly devoid of anything. Even space itself seems to have lost all color.

While the universe is often perceived as black, this place is different. It is utterly colorless, like transparent water.

Despite not using any magic, Little Herta floats effortlessly here. There is no gravity, no concept of direction. In this realm of nothingness, any anomaly would stand out starkly.

There is a "hole," or rather, an "aperture," roughly the size of Little Herta's fist. The moment she sees it, she knows with certainty that this is the Root of All Evil—the source of all Dimensional Rifts.

Little Herta begins collecting data, while Herta Herself immerses herself in intensive research.

Three days pass in a blur. During this time, with Little Herta at the source of the Dimensional Rifts, various disasters manifest in the Main World. However, thanks to Dominicus's power, all these calamities are transformed into mere dreams.

The world continued as before, with people going to school, work, and carrying on with their daily lives. Only in their leisure time, during casual conversations, did they still discuss the concert from three days prior, most recalling it with lingering delight.

Only a select few could sense a strange force enveloping the world, hinting at an impending disaster. Elysia, of course, had already alerted those capable of perceiving it, briefing them on the situation.

In a secure online chat channel, the Prophet of White Eagle, the Queen of Great Britain, the Director of the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations of the Dragon Nation, the Marshal of the Bear Nation, and the Chief Scientific Officer of the European Union—some of the world's most powerful figures—were engaged in casual conversation.

Queen Elizabeth remarked with awe, "It's truly astonishing. I doubt even all the Evolvers in the world combined could defeat that golden figure called Dominicus."

The European Union's Chief Scientific Officer added, "A power completely beyond my imagination..."

The Director of the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations of the Dragon Nation shook his head. "Your hypotheses are meaningless. Robin informed me that the golden figure's power originates from the collective will of everyone in the world. We can't possibly contend with such a force. In fact, if everyone in the world were united in resisting, the golden figure would vanish on its own."

The Marshal of the Bear Nation nodded. "Dominicus of the Harmonious Choir... truly a fitting title."

The Prophet nodded blankly, pretending to follow the conversation. In reality, she was panicking: Elysia, what on earth are you doing? Why did you drag me into this meeting?!

Meanwhile, Elysia wasn't even in White Eagle anymore; she was in the Dragon Nation. At the sound of a gentle knock, Dragon Lady Yu Lin slowly opened her door and froze at the sight of the pink-haired girl standing before her.

"Ah... uh?"

"Hi~!" Elysia waved with a cheerful smile. "Got some free time? Care to join me for a stroll?"

Yu Lin was even more bewildered. She knew Elysia only through Robin; they had exchanged a few words during Robin's concert in White Eagle. Yu Lin hardly considered them close.

Who could have imagined spending a peaceful day off at home, only to have a sudden knock at the door? Opening it to find the leader of White Eagle inviting you out for a stroll? How reasonable was that?

And how on earth did you end up here, Your Ladyship?

After a moment's hesitation, Yu Lin nodded decisively. "Okay!"

Though they weren't particularly close, Yu Lin held Elysia in high regard and saw no reason to refuse. And so, the two began their leisurely walk.

With Elysia's natural social butterfly personality and Yu Lin's own lively spirit, there was none of the awkwardness one might expect from only their second meeting. Instead, they behaved like longtime, close friends.

And in truth, that was precisely the case. Yu Lin was the first genuine friend Elysia had made since arriving in this world.

As they chatted, Elysia suddenly asked, "Yu Lin, what do you think of Robin?"

Without a moment's thought, Yu Lin blurted out, "She's gentle, kind, and beautiful! But most importantly, Sister Robin's singing is absolutely heavenly! I adore her!"

Elysia wasn't surprised by this answer. Even before asking the question, she could have predicted exactly what Yu Lin would say. She nodded and fell silent.

Herta had finally deciphered the true nature of the 'hole' at the origin of the Dimensional Rift.

It was a byproduct of an accidental interaction between a Higher-Dimensional World and a Lower-Dimensional World. To illustrate, imagine the 'Main World' where Herta currently resided as a sheet of paper. Now picture someone in a higher dimension—a three-dimensional world—poking a hole through this sheet with a pen. This was precisely the 'hole' Little Herta had witnessed.

As two-dimensional beings living on this 'paper,' Herta and her kind could never perceive the entire pen. They could only observe the small portion of it that pierced the paper, the point of contact between the pen and the sheet.

This hole was the birth of the Dimensional Rift. Through this puncture, the Higher-Dimensional World exerted its influence on the Lower-Dimensional World, causing the paper around the hole to wrinkle, bend, and tear.

The folds and bends in space-time formed countless dimensional rifts, while the tears represented the shattered remnants of destroyed worlds.

Of course, these were merely examples; the reality was far more complex. Then, within those three days, Herta discovered a way to mend the Hole.

Normally, repairing such a Hole should have been an impossible task. After all, how could someone living on a piece of paper possibly influence the pen that pierced it?

But at that moment, Herta realized... she seemed to originate from the other side of the Hole.

In other words, she had undergone a "dimensional descent traversal." Her true home lay beyond the Hole, because she wasn't fundamentally a creature of this "paper" world. Therefore, influencing the pen and mending the Hole wasn't as difficult as it seemed.

She had been searching tirelessly for a way back to her original world, but within these countless lower-dimensional realms, her true home remained elusive. If she wanted to return, she would have to pass through the Hole and return to the other side.

Yet if she did, she would lose the ability to repair the Hole. The act of mending could only be accomplished from within these lower-dimensional worlds.

Herta had considered many solutions, such as sending only one of her selves—Sparkle, for instance—back to the Main World while the others remained to repair the Hole. But the vast difference in dimensionality would sever her consciousness; even with multiple bodies sharing a single soul, the remaining bodies would become vegetative due to the interruption of consciousness. If she wanted to leave, all her selves would have to depart together.

What if all her selves left and entrusted the Hole's repair to Ikezawa, who was also suspected of having crossed over from a higher dimension?

That wouldn't work either. The repair process was too intricate; even if Ikezawa studied until his death, his intelligence wouldn't be sufficient to master it.

So, she now faced a choice:

Should she return to the Main World? What did these lower-dimensional worlds mean to her? Or should she seal the Hole, eliminate the Dimensional Rift, and stay behind?

Initially, her primary goal had always been to find a way home. But somewhere along the way, it had unconsciously shifted to repairing the Dimensional Rift and saving the world.

Robin was currently operating Dominicus and couldn't leave. Elysia handed off the online conference to Prophet and traveled to the Dragon Nation to meet Yu Lin, her first friend in this world. After a brief conversation, she finally made up her mind.

"Stay!"

The past was gone, and she still had so many friends and so many things she wanted to do in this world.

With this thought, the Little Herta Puppets stationed before the "Hole" began their work. The repair process was far from quick, requiring Herta Herself's constant supervision to prevent any unforeseen accidents.

Time passed—one day, seven days, a month.

She worked tirelessly, without rest. Even with her multiple bodies and superhuman stamina, fatigue slowly crept in. Finally, on the thirty-first day, every Dimensional Rift across all worlds vanished completely.

Just as abruptly as they had appeared, they disappeared without a trace. From that moment onward, all technology related to Dimensional Rifts ceased to function.

However, Herta's Mirror remained effective. Watching the Little Herta Puppets return to the Main World one by one through the mirror at her home in Great Britain, she sighed softly with exhaustion. "With this," she murmured, "the calamity known as Dimensional Rifts will plague this world no more..."
