Nora Scott parked her bicycle at the village entrance.
Outside the village entrance, there was an archway with a plaque bearing three characters - Dubois Village.
Judging by the winding journey here, one could guess this was an undeveloped village; however, the scenery was unexpectedly pleasant. The houses were scattered, the land wasn't barren but cultivated with greenery and fruit trees. The road was lined with rare greenery instead of the usual yellow earth.
The village recently paved the roads; small paths that would turn muddy in the rain were now cemented, making it easy for vehicles to drive smoothly.
A few children were playing on skateboards at the village entrance. A boy of about six or seven was gliding particularly skillfully, with several little kids happily following behind him. Even trailing at the back, they were jubilant.
