Nareth picked up the Dice of Prophecy and began to divine Rynn.
He chose Rynn not because it was the future homeworld of the Crimson Fists.
He recalled that the Crimson Fists and the Black Templars were successor Chapters of the Imperial Fists from the Second Founding. For the first nine millennia, the Crimson Fists were a fleet-based Chapter.
It was only in the late 40th Millennium, after the Voltigern Crusade, that the Crimson Fists crushed several Ork empires in the Loki Sector and were rewarded with the agri-world of Rynn as their homeworld.
But in reality, Rynn was not the Chapter's recruiting or training world. An agri-world's culture didn't fit the Crimson Fists.
They usually recruited from the nearby barbaric death world of Blackwater and trained in the Loki Sector.
Rynn served a ceremonial and inspirational role.
Nareth chose to divine Rynn because the new agricultural world model developed by the "Harvest Priest" Kerri on Barnett had succeeded. He needed a true model.
Rynn was one of the Imperium's most famous agri-worlds, with excellent natural conditions.
In the future, before his heroic death, Captain Bressana of the Rynn Guard had said:
"I have given my life to Rynn's World. It is the jewel of the Imperium, second only to Terra!"
Though somewhat boastful, future Rynn, with a population of two hundred million, far exceeding the sub-million populations of most agri-worlds, still had a beautiful environment. Calling it a jewel was not an exaggeration.
Furthermore, Rynn had a specialty Nareth valued: Jade Mold.
He believed a model agri-world needed a flagship product, something the Symphony of the Sea, Terrican, and Barnett lacked.
As he turned the triangular pyramid, he thought to himself.
'Dorn, it's time to take from your sons too.'
His mind flashed through the other Primarchs he had taken from:
From Guilliman: Calth, Konor, Thalas, and other worlds, and his son, Gren Vosotho.
The Attila system, which Hannibal would have discovered, and the Necron artifact, the Ymga Monolith.
He had intercepted the three STCs Horus would have gained from "Terra," the Leman Russ tank named by Russ, and the Baal Predator from Sanguinius.
When rescuing Omegon, he had obtained his blood, tissue samples, and research data from the Slaugth.
On Medusa, he had excavated STCs including the Simulus Chamber, and had just had the "Druid" Marlena Skala plant a tree with Ferrus's blood, planning to obtain the sealed contents of Mimir's Well after his death.
He had also taken the sons of many Primarchs:
From the Lion, who was both father and son: Luther, the future Cypher Zahariel, and the former Legion Master Urian Vendraig.
From Fulgrim: his beloved son Akurduana, and the would-be Chosen of Slaanesh, Lucius.
From Jaghatai Khan: his first Khan, Hasik, and Khans Agula and Naritsun.
From Curze: his son, the Claw Master, Zso Sahaal.
From Angron: his son, who had become Chief Apothecary of the War Hounds and would create the World Eaters' version of the Butcher's Nails, Gahlan Surlak.
From Magnus: his son, who had become Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons with his help, Hathor Maat.
From Lorgar: his son, the void warfare expert, future commander of an Abyss-class battleship, Zadkiel.
From Corax: his sons, the future Great Rememberer of the Carcharodon, Arkhas Fal; the first Chapter Master of the Ashen Claw, Nerat Kirine; the founding Grand Master of the Grey Knights, Balsar Kurthuri; and the one called the Raven, Alastor Rushal.
He did not count Perturabo, who had built the stasis device for him, nor Mortarion, with whom he had traded on Barbarus, nor Vulkan, with whom he had a mutually beneficial arrangement, as those he had "taken from."
'Dorn, I've already taken from fifteen Primarchs. If I omitted you, it would seem I underestimated you, which would be disrespectful.'
'Thus, though Angron and Corax have not yet returned, I have still achieved the feat of being connected to every other Primarch.'
'Hmm... in this review, I have gained something from every other Primarch, only the amount differs.'
Smiling, he recalled what he knew of Rynn.
'In the Segmentum Ultima, near the Segmentum Tempestus.'
'It has all the conditions to become a prosperous agri-world. Its size is close to the Administratum standard. Its orbit is suitable…'
'The only source of Jade Mold.'
'...'
After the information flashed through his mind, he silently intoned.
'Star chart from the Kalium Gate to Rynn.'
'...'
After intoning it eleven times, he tossed the dice.
The triangular pyramid tumbled through the air, landing in his open palm. A holographic-like scene unfolded.
He memorized the star chart and encoded it on a data-crystal.
Returning to reality, he summoned Kerri.
Moments later, Kerri entered the reception hall of Shadowhold.
He noted that Kerri, from the Symphony of the Sea, had a darker bronze tan from childhood exposure to strong light.
The "Mentor of Disorder" activated his Spirit Vision, confirming her spirit was like a ripe harvest.
'She has digested the potion.'
With this thought, he had the Jokaero in the first layer concoct Sequence 6 "Biologist" potion, using materials including the Serpent's Fang venom.
After listening to Kerri's report, he smiled approvingly.
"Kerri, you have established the standard for a new type of agri-world in my domains."
Hearing Lord Nareth's praise, she smiled proudly.
She thought of her journey, from a simple fisherman's daughter to directing the transformation of an entire world, and marveled at the wonder of fate.
"My Lord, my achievements are all thanks to the power You granted me and Lady Marlena's instruction." She said modestly.
"This is your reward." Nareth turned his wrist. A brown potion appeared.
"Thank You, my Lord, for Your gift." She knelt, then walked forward excitedly, taking the potion.
She glanced at the liquid, with its various fuzz, then drank.
The potion tasted like swallowing a piece of leather.
The strange bitterness made her want to retch.
Her face rapidly turned dark, as if poisoned.
Her weathered, dry skin quickly wrinkled, making her look like a shriveled old woman.
Strange patterns appeared on her neck, some like bats, others like serpents...
Her short hair lengthened, curling, swaying like snakes.
"Meditate." A commanding voice sounded in her mind.
She instinctively obeyed, visualizing the rice plant Marlena had taught her to meditate on.
Moments later, the newly promoted "Biologist" knelt.
"My Lord, I am honored by Your gift. I will continue to strive to serve You."
"First, go to the wasteland and find Marlena. Receive her instruction." He didn't send Kerri to Rynn immediately. She had proven her ability. She should be converted into a Perpetual.
Likewise, other high-ranking members of the Legion, especially those who would accompany him to Sak'trada Deeps.
Because the Serpent's Cradle had twin stars, it could receive more energy than a single-star system. Therefore, the teleportarium had lower requirements and was completed faster. It was now possible to travel back and forth in a short time.
He immediately summoned Arsena, who had returned from the starport, and ordered that high-ranking Legion members not yet Perpetuals travel to the Kalium Gate in batches.
Wojciech Blyek and other beyonders were included. This did not include nobles like Yelena Kournikova.
He would not let a single noble family be controlled by one person indefinitely, when they could be replaced by newcomers.
The resources for converting Perpetuals were limited. He could not convert all nobles.
This also included the Terran nobles who had sworn fealty to him, like House Drake, which would produce many Lord Commanders of the Astra Militarum in the future.
The sole exception among the heads of these families was the Rogue Trader, Lewis von Valancius, who had offered him the star chart of the Coronid Deeps.
The current Coronid New Zone was his largest territory. The Cyclops Cluster alone had over a hundred worlds.
His ability and achievements were sufficient for Nareth to make an exception.
