Natalia's voice had softened at the edges, almost melting into the quiet space around them. It wasn't really a question, more like a quiet plea she didn't bother to hide.
She let out a slow breath and pulled Arthur closer, her arms wrapping around him with a firmness that surprised even herself. It wasn't desperate, not quite...but there was a quiet insistence in it, as if she wanted to memorize the exact way he fit against her. As if even a fraction of distance would ruin something fragile and fleeting.
Her face found its way into the crook of his neck, and she stayed there, still and warm. She inhaled slowly, deeply, letting his scent settle into her chest, into something far deeper than just memory.
Her heart felt… full.
Too full.
