"That's a dangerous plan. Philip is resourceful. Having him anywhere near that Blood is… unwise," Athenodora said.
Caius shrugged.
"Eh, it's not like you could avoid him with him dogging your steps," he said.
"You underestimate me," Athenodora said, "If I want to ditch Philip, I can and I will."
"But this way, you won't have to," Caius said. Thinking that he really needed to get his point across to her, he grabbed Athenodora's shoulders and stared deep into her eyes,
"Trust me. We need to go for the Blood now. And for that, we'll need Philip."
Athenodora held his gaze for a full minute and then let out a sigh with a resigned smile on her lips.
"Fine," she said, "But that Blood is mine."
"Okay," Caius answered.
"No," Athenodora said and grabbed his chin gently but firmly, "Caius, when we get to that Blood, whatever you do, whatever you have planned, that Blood is mine. You understand?"
