Chapter 76 - Deceit and Pain (Part 3)

Last Chapter: When Doey pulled a large pile of debris away, he saw Mommy Long Leg's hand. "There she is!" he shouted.

One of the dark teal humanoids looked at the ground and noticed a few broken purple beads, which made their eyes widen in horror. "No..." Doey said, lowly.

---

When Doey lifted the debris around Mommy Long Legs's hand away, the dark teal humanoids' eyes widened when they saw Michelle's arms. "This can't be happening..." Doey continued.

Doey pushed more debris away from Mommy Long Legs's hand before lifting the large rock holding her arm and throwing it to the other side.

Mommy Long Legs lifted her hand and pulled her arm toward the opening, revealing Michelle with her eyes closed and blood coming from the cut on her head. "Did you find her, Doey?" Poppy asked.

Doey and the dark teal humanoids stared at Michelle, mortified, before he looked down, trembling. "Doey?" Poppy asked.

Doey started melting until he became a puddle of dough with his hat over it. Soon after, the puddle of dough started bubbling until blue dough arms with red dough swirling around his arms, and red claws came out of it.

Kevin placed his hands on the ground and quickly pulled himself out of the puddle of dough before sprinting toward Michelle. "Misha!!" he shouted.

The rest of the group came out of the opening as Matthew and Jack pulled themselves out of the puddle of dough before following Kevin. When Kevin was close to Michelle, he kneeled and held her in his arms. "Are you alright?!" he shouted.

As Michelle's left hand dropped to the ground, her lower arm bent in a different direction, which made Kevin look at it with widened eyes.

Two dough arms sprouted out of Kevin's back before they shot toward Michelle's left arm. As the dough arms gently held Michelle's left arm, Kevin felt a few things poke his palms, which made him flinch, before carefully lifting it.

When one of the dough arms grabbed part of Michelle's jacket sleeve and carefully pulled on it, Kevin was mortified to see that her lower arm was red and purple, her fingers bent in different directions, and a few pieces of bone were sticking out of her skin, bleeding.

The group approached the couple and looked at Michelle's arm in horror as the dough arm let go of her sleeve. "This... this can't be happening..." Kevin said, lowly, before turning his head to the group. "Bobby, Medic, I need you; help her!!"

Bobby BearHug nodded and sprinted toward the couple; when she was close to them, she knelt and grabbed Medic off her shoulder before holding him out to Michelle's left arm.

Medic gently placed his claw against Michelle's lower arm and felt around before looking down; Kevin looked at him. "Can't you do something?!" he shouted.

Medic remained silent before looking at Kevin, mortified. "Even with my medical expertise, nothing I can do will help her..." he said.

Kevin's eyes widened before he looked at Michelle, while Medic looked at her right arm. "If Misha's lower right arm is the same way I felt on her left..." he continued before looking at her left arm. "She needs a hospital to reform the bones in her arms and be placed in casts."

Medic looked down. "The healing process would take weeks, maybe even months, depending on the severity of it..." he said.

The group stared at Michelle in horror. "No..." Kevin said, lowly, before shaking his head. "No, no, no, no... this can't be happening..."

Kevin gritted his teeth before looking at Michelle. "You can't die on me, damn it!" he shouted. "What about your dream?!"

Kevin trembled. "You said you wanted to be a farmer whenever you got out of your orphanage," he said. "And you were gonna ask Katie and me if we would help..."

Dark teal dough tears landed on Michelle's cheek. "Back at the rail cave, you said that I would think your dream was stupid... but you're wrong..." Kevin continued. "I would've loved the quiet lifestyle too..."

Kevin looked at Michelle as his dark teal dough tears continued falling. "And that wishful thinking part... I knew you were talking about me as your farmer husband..." he said. "I would've agreed to the proposal without a second thought..."

Kevin laid his forehead against Michelle's. "You can't die on me... please..." he said, lowly.

As silence filled the room, Kevin gritted his teeth with a snarl, and his body boiled before looking up. "PROTOTYPE!!!" he roared.

Kevin glared at the roof of the cave. "When I find you, I'll kill you with my bare fucking hands if I have to!! There will be nothing left of you!!!" he shouted.

The larger group looked at the couple with tears falling from their eyes as Kevin cried and carefully held Michelle close to him as his body stopped boiling. Katelynn looked away with her mouth covered and black slime tears falling from her eyes. "Big Sister..." she said, lowly.

Yarnaby whimpered before letting go of the metal canister. When Katelynn looked at the metal canister, she noticed paper coming out of it, which shocked her, before picking it up. "This canister..." she said, lowly, before grabbing one end.

Soon after, Katelynn twisted the canister open and looked at the paper inside; after she grabbed it, she dropped the empty canister on the ground. As Katelynn looked at the paper, her eyes widened before she sprinted toward the small group. "Big Brother!" she shouted.

Kevin turned his head to Katelynn with dark teal tears pricking his eyes when she was close to them. "There might be a way to save Big Sister," she said.

When Katelynn turned the paper to the small group, they saw a blueprint of mechanical arms with the GrabPack's hands. "These are blueprints on how to make Eve the Angel's arms," Katelynn continued.

Kevin stared at the blueprint. "If we give Big Sister these arms, she won't die on us!" Katelynn shouted.

Kevin remained silent and looked down; he wiped his dark teal dough tears away from his eyes before looking at Medic. "Is she right...?" he asked. "Is something like this possible...?"

Medic looked at the blueprint before looking down. "Yes, it's possible," he said. "However, if we follow this blueprint... we would have to amputate her arms."

Kevin froze before looking down, perplexed. "Is that... the only way...?" a weak female voice asked, which made his eyes widen.

When Kevin turned his head to Michelle, her eyes were partially open and shivering in pain before she weakly looked at Medic. "Is cutting my arms off... my only option...?" she asked.

Medic stared at Michelle before nodding. "Unfortunately, yes..." he said.

Kevin looked at Michelle, baffled. "Hang on, you want to go with this?" he asked. "You could die from it."

Michelle weakly turned her head to Kevin. "Whether I get my arms amputated or not, I'm gonna die either way..." she said, which made him freeze up. "If my arms start to form blood clots, they'll block my heart and kill me..."

Michelle closed her eyes with tears pricking her eyes. "This pain, it's unbearable..." she said, lowly. "I want it to go away..."

Dark teal dough tears pricked Kevin's eyes. "You do realize what you're asking us, right?" he asked.

Michelle weakly looked at Kevin. "Yeah, I do..." she said. "You remember what I said back at Safe Haven, right...?"

Michelle weakly smiled. "I want to live my life with no regrets..." she continued. "And if this is how I die... I can die happy knowing that I saved another person's life..."

Tears fell from Poppy's eyes, and she covered her mouth before looking away. "Misha..." she said, lowly.

Michelle weakly looked at Kevin. "Ultimately... this decision is on you..." she said.

Kevin stared at Michelle with a frightened gaze. "What if... what if I make the wrong decision?" he asked.

Michelle weakly chuckled. "I know you won't..." she said before weakly smiling at Kevin. "Because you always make the right decisions..."

Kevin remained silent and stared at Michelle before looking down; he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. After Kevin exhaled, he looked at Medic. "We're doing the operation," he said.

The large group looked at Kevin. "We'll need a suitable place to do it, along with those who have medical knowledge and mechanical knowledge," he continued.

Bobby BearHug stood up and looked at Kevin. "Obviously, Medic and I will come with you," she said.

DogDay approached the small group. "I have some medical knowledge, but I don't know how much of a help I'll be," he said. "I can help in both fields if necessary."

Bubba Bubbaphant approached the small group. "I don't have much medical knowledge, but I can help with my mechanical knowledge," he said.

Kevin looked at CatNap. "CatNap," he said, which made him look at him. "We need your Red Smoke. Please... help us..."

CatNap stared at Kevin. "You don't have to tell me twice, Kevin," he said before stepping forward. "Use my smoke however you please to save Angel."

Kevin carefully stood up with Michelle in his arms. "Big Brother," Katelynn said, which made him look at her.

Katelynn held her right hand out before the red beaded bracelet emerged from her palm. "I kept the bracelets inside my body for safekeeping, but..." she said.

Katelynn held the bracelet out to Kevin. "You can think of it as a lucky charm," she continued.

Kevin stared at the bracelet before the dough arm holding Michelle's left arm carefully lowered down. Soon after, the dough arms on Kevin's back grabbed the bracelet and the blueprints. "Thank you, Katie..." he said.

Kevin looked at DogDay, CatNap, Bubba Bubbaphant, Bobby BearHug, and Medic. "Let's move quickly," he continued, which made them nod before they sprinted away.

...

...

...

Inside one of the makeshift lab rooms, the door opened before the group entered; Medic looked at the metal table at the center before pointing at it. "Place Misha on that metal table," he said.

Kevin nodded as he quickly approached the metal table; when he was close to it, he gently placed Michelle on it. "Kevin..." she said, which made him look at her. "I... I'm scared..."

Tears started falling from Michelle's eyes. "Even though I said all that stuff... I don't want to die..." she continued before closing her eyes and sniffling. "I don't want to leave you two again..."

Kevin frowned before retracting his claws and gently wiping Michelle's tears away. "Don't worry... you're not leaving us behind..." he said, which made her weakly look at him. "Even as a human, you're much stronger than all of us..."

Kevin gently laid his head against Michelle's. "I know without a doubt that you'll get through this too..." he continued.

Michelle stared at Kevin. "Kevin..." she said, lowly.

Kevin lifted his head before gently kissing Michelle's forehead. "Stay strong, Misha... I'll be waiting for you..." he said.

Michelle sniffled a bit before weakly nodding, which made Kevin gently smile before pulling away. As Kevin stepped back, Bobby BearHug approached him while holding Medic in her hands. "Take Medic with you; we don't want him to get hit with the Red Smoke," she said.

Kevin stared at the red bracelet in one of his dough arms before grabbing it. Soon after, Kevin carefully put the red bracelet on his left wrist while the dough arm that held it retracted inside himself. "Right," he said before approaching Bobby BearHug.

After Kevin held Medic in his hands, he approached DogDay and held the blueprints out with his dough arm. "Here..." he said, lowly.

DogDay nodded as he grabbed the blueprints. "Don't worry, Kevin... she's in safe hands..." he said.

Kevin remained silent as the dough arm retracted inside himself before approaching the door. "I'll believe it when I see it," he said.

When Kevin stood before the door, it opened, which made him step out of the room. After the door closed behind Kevin, DogDay looked at CatNap. "CatNap..." he said. "It's time..."

CatNap nodded before approaching the metal table; when he was close to it, he looked down. "Angel..." he said, lowly.

When Michelle looked at CatNap, she noticed he was trembling before gently smiling. "It's alright..." she said, which made him stop and look at her. "You can use your Red Smoke on me... I won't hate you..."

CatNap stared at Michelle before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Soon after, CatNap blew out Red Smoke, which filled the room; Michelle felt the gas's effects before her eyelids grew heavy.

CatNap approached the right side of the table before sitting on the ground and looking at Michelle. "Don't worry, Angel..." he said.

Michelle slowly turned her head to CatNap as her vision started going dark. "When you wake up... you'll be as good as new..." he continued before she fell into unconsciousness.
