Aiden was lounging comfortably on the large sofa, his head resting against the armrest, legs stretched out across the cushions. In his hands was a thick, leather-bound school book about magic theory — the kind with complicated runes and diagrams. His eyes moved slowly across the pages, completely absorbed.
The quiet was gently broken when someone approached him. Small, warm hands rested lightly on his thighs. Aiden didn't look up right away, still focused on the book. A soft, shy voice spoke up.
