Collin respected Axel. He simply understood his situation.

"Thank you. I'm seven months pregnant." Vanessa smiled and rubbed her belly.
"I guess Mr. Yajiro will be excited."
"Nah, we are divorced. I'm not Mrs. Yajiro anymore. I'm back to using my maiden name, Vanessa Wang."
"Eh? But what about the child?"
"The child is not his. I got knocked up by Jamal."
"...But I thought you guys were cool with open relationships."
"Yeah, we are. But my husband drew the line at me getting pregnant. He didn't like the idea of taking care of another man's child, so we divorced."

He sat down at the table for Whiplash. Their production team had its own section at the banquet. The director was present, as was the rest of the cast, including Axel.

Collin glanced at Vanessa and found that she had a bitter smile. Her actor had not received a nomination. The woman left early.
Now that Axel had a nomination, it seemed he would have to spend even more... Since he had made the cut, he might as well do his best to win the award. The PR team was also more than happy to keep working for him.
