Chapter 228 - Chapter 228: Otsutsuki Jinchuriki

This guy...

Eida gritted her silver teeth. If Daemon were truly thrown into the space-time turbulence, he definitely wouldn't survive. The ability to reflect killing intent, while powerful, only applied to living beings. As for whether the man before her possessed the ability to throw Daemon into space-time turbulence, she had no doubt whatsoever.

Naruto poured her a cup of tea, his leisurely posture making it seem as if he were the master of this house.

Strength determines one's perspective. For others, Daemon's ability might be troublesome, but for him, it was just that—merely troublesome. A lopsided strength is easily shattered.

"Alright." After a long silence, Eida agreed to his deal. She naturally knew the origins of the man before her and was also aware that he would eventually return to his original world. Furthermore, Kara's technology was, to her, no different from chicken ribs—tasteless yet a pity to discard. Using something she didn't need at all to avoid a nasty fight was a very good bargain. The reason she had hesitated was entirely because his overbearing attitude had wounded her pride. Although, to this man, her pride was undoubtedly worthless as straw.

"Bagues!"

Hearing her call, the little old man hurriedly put down his work, ran over, and stood respectfully to the side, awaiting her orders. Although it was quite demeaning, compared to his own little life, his mistress's commands were more important. He used his peripheral vision to observe the man sitting opposite Eida. An illusion, it must be an illusion. Eida's aura is actually being suppressed...

"Package all the technical data in this base and hand it over to him," Eida instructed calmly.

But Bagues sensed boundless anger beneath her calm demeanor. His small body shivered, and not daring to ask anything, he directly followed her instructions.

"A pleasure doing business with you!" Naruto drained the tea in his cup in one gulp, then followed the little old man out of the room.

"Sister..." Daemon gently took his sister's hand in both of his.

"It's alright." Eida turned her head to look at his worried little face and smiled gently.

Phew...

A heavy breath suddenly sounded in the room. Code, covered in wounds, had escaped the battlefield using a claw mark.

"As expected of a hero of the shinobi world. His strength when enraged is truly not to be underestimated..." Code said, still shaken. "What's wrong with you two?" he asked, sensing the suppressed emotions of the siblings.

"...It's nothing." After a moment's hesitation, Eida temporarily decided not to mention what had happened. After all, that guy was still here.

"Oh right, help me monitor Nara Shikamaru's movements," Code said, not dwelling on it further.

Naruto (who had been observing through his remote sensory jutsu) withdrew his gaze.

"My lord, what do you require?" Bagues asked cautiously.

"Please trouble yourself to print them out in paper form."

"No problem."

Seeing Code flee, Nara Shikamaru couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. But thinking about the mess before him, another headache set in. Boruto was severely injured, and the culprit was also gravely wounded. What was most infuriating was that Kawaki had done it to protect the Seventh Hokage...

He walked over to the Seventh Hokage's side and asked how to deal with Kawaki.

"The same as before." The Seventh Hokage cradled his child's body, his expression dim. "He is still a person of Konoha, my family, Boruto's older brother."

"Do you really think so?" Nara Shikamaru sighed.

"Kawaki's strength... in Konoha, apart from me and Sasuke, no one can stop him. Besides, all of this, in the end, is because of me..."

Nara Shikamaru looked at the dazed Seventh Hokage, momentarily at a loss for words.

Thump~

Just then, a small fist tapped against the Seventh Hokage's chest.

"Kawaki... what happened to him?" Boruto's voice was extremely weak.

Hearing Boruto's chirping voice, feeling his body gradually recovering its vitality, tears instantly welled up in the Seventh Hokage's eyes.

"Boruto..." Finally, he could no longer hold it back. He hugged Boruto and began to sob uncontrollably.

Nara Shikamaru watched this scene, then looked up at the sky, blinking away the dust that had gotten into his eyes. Although he didn't know why Boruto's injuries had recovered so bizarrely, the outcome was, after all, good.

Several minutes later.

The Seventh Hokage also calmed down. Looking at the wound on Boruto's chest, which was healing at a visible rate, he asked for the reason.

"It was Otsutsuki Momoshiki who saved me," Boruto said, scratching his head. "He said that while the [Vessel] serves as a reincarnation medium, it is also the [Anchor] that tethers the soul to reality. If the [Vessel] is lost, their soul will also instantly perish. Because my life was in danger, he was forced to convert all of the remaining eighteen percent of unthawed data into my data, repairing my injuries..."

In his mind, the conversation he had just had with Otsutsuki Momoshiki in his subconscious replayed.

"...Be careful, inferior creature. With the thawing of that final eighteen percent of data, you are already a complete Otsutsuki," Otsutsuki Momoshiki had said. "An Otsutsuki even purer than that teacher of yours."

"Does that mean I could become fodder for the Ten-Tails at any moment? That's great! Saves Dad and the others the trouble of searching everywhere for that guy named Code," Boruto said, his eyes determined.

"Don't get carried away, inferior creature." Otsutsuki Momoshiki sat suspended in mid-air. "Resurrection only happens once. Next time you die, it will be for real."

"You said it before, didn't you..." Boruto asked. "My blue eye will take everything from me. Is what happened to me because of that eye?"

"I don't know either," Otsutsuki Momoshiki denied it outright.

Kara Organization Base.

"There isn't a single 'claw mark' inside Konoha village, and Amado lives in the very center of Konoha. What's the use of you asking me to monitor Nara Shikamaru?" Eida asked. Due to Naruto's sudden intrusion, she hadn't seen the subsequent battle.

"Don't worry, I've already made preparations in advance."

Nara Shikamaru gently rubbed his back; it still ached faintly from where Code had kicked him.

Konoha Hospital.

Boruto lay on a hospital bed. Amado, Katasuke, and Sai stood to the side, listening to him recount the process of his injury and recovery.

Amado raised a question, "You mean, the reason you were able to revive was entirely thanks to Karma?"

"That's what Momoshiki told me. If you don't believe it, there's nothing I can do," Boruto said with a shrug.

Sizzle~

Amado took a deep drag from his cigarette. There were too many doubtful points.

"Otsutsuki Momoshiki is actually that kind?" Katasuke expressed his surprise.

"That's understandable. After all, Boruto is his vessel. If he loses the vessel, he too will lose his life. Their interests are directly linked," Amado said.

"In other words, although Otsutsuki Momoshiki currently possesses a complete soul, he has lost the fundamental condition for revival..." Sai mused, stroking his chin.

"That's how it is for now. But Otsutsuki Momoshiki can still control Boruto's consciousness from time to time. We can only say that the crisis has taken a turn, not that it has been resolved," Amado sighed faintly.

Boruto looked at the Karma in his hand with a grave expression.

"Where is Lord Namikaze?" Amado asked curiously.

"Don't know." Sai shook his head. Unlike Amado, the ANBU didn't dare to directly monitor Naruto and were unaware of his movements.
