"Mithra the Thunder Vassal?! Could it be!" You Feng's eyes widened. He seemed to have realized what was coming, and his heart skipped a beat.
"Hehehahaha... it seems you've already guessed the outcome. I activate the effect of Mithra the Thunder Vassal! If this card is Special Summoned, I Special Summon one Vassal Token (Thunder Type / LIGHT / Level 1 / ATK 800 / DEF 1000) to the opponent's field in Defense Position!"
As Marik's voice fell, a defensive Vassal Token appeared on You Feng's side of the field.
"Is Marik an idiot? Now You Feng can just Tribute those two monsters to activate Obelisk's effect, can't he?" Joey Wheeler stared, dumbfounded.
"It's useless," Kaiba said, shaking his head. "Obelisk the Tormentor's effect requires Tributing monsters; a Token does not count as a monster for that requirement."
It was clear that Marik was well aware of this detail.
"I have a bad feeling about this!" Yami Yugi's eyes were filled with deep concern.
"You Feng! Prepare to welcome my servant's third form! Hehe, I forgot to tell you your Obelisk the Tormentor will also become my Tribute!!" Marik's face became increasingly distorted and twisted.
"What!!!" The entire audience was shell-shocked. Tributing a God?
"From my hand, I Summon a monster! The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode! To Summon this card, I must Tribute three monsters. Hehe, and the best part is, I can use three monsters on the opponent's field as Tributes! This is a Cost, not a monster effect, so even your Obelisk the Tormentor cannot ignore it! Hahahaha...!" Marik held his scepter high in triumph.

The three monsters on You Feng's field were all consumed as Tributes. In their place, a massive golden sphere appeared on his side.
