Chapter 360: Thunderlight Army, Crumbling Temple!
Through Lin Fan's spiritual sense, he could perceive countless humanoid figures made of thunderlight standing silently in the distance like statues, each one holding a bow formed of lightning.
At this moment, arcs of electricity flickered across their bows—arrows of thunder already drawn and ready.
Boom!
The thunderlight figures released their strings all at once. Space twisted as countless thunder arrows surged forward like a torrential downpour, each one brimming with terrifying, destructive force.
The sky darkened under the barrage of thunderlight arrows, and space rippled under their pressure. The very air shattered with explosive cracks.
The sudden onslaught stunned everyone who had entered the temple.
No one had expected that instead of a ground full of treasures, what awaited them inside the Reincarnation Temple was a battle-ready army of thunderlight.
"Watch out!"
The attack was swift and merciless, but those who had entered were no weaklings. In moments, sharp cries rang out and surges of Yuan Power erupted like volcanoes.
Thump! Thump!
The rain of thunder arrows struck like a storm. Over a hundred cultivators at the front, each protected by dense Yuan Power, were instantly pierced through.
Thunder surged through their bodies and, under the horrified eyes of others, their forms exploded into bloody mist!
Even their souls had no chance to escape—their spiritual essence was vaporized by the flashing lightning.
Screams of agony echoed through the air, shaking the heavens.
Lin Fan hadn't restricted Lin Dong and Mu Lingshan's senses, so both of them could sense what was happening outside—and their expressions shifted in horror.
Only now did they understand why Lin Fan had used the Black Tortoise Heaven-Suppressing Bell to shield them the moment they entered the temple.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Even though Lin Fan had shrunk the Black Tortoise Bell considerably, it was still bombarded by the rain of thunder arrows, producing clear, metallic clangs.
Ripples spread outward from the bell, making Lin Dong and Mu Lingshan uneasy even within its protective field.
"Thank you, Big Brother Lin Fan," Lin Dong said gratefully as he sensed the fate of those caught outside.
Mu Lingshan also quickly offered her thanks.
Lin Fan smiled. "No need for that—we're on the same side. But from now on, be careful. This battle won't be easy to avoid."
Outside, the storm of screams and explosions continued as the thunder arrow barrage turned the air into a mist of blood.
Almost half of the first wave of intruders had been annihilated in an instant.
As the blood mist dissipated, the surviving cultivators were left shaken. Was this really a treasure hall, or some ancient battlefield trap?
Creak!
While they were still reeling, the thunderlight army in the distance once again raised their bows. Lightning surged across the strings, clearly signaling a second wave of attacks.
"Charge! Don't let them fire again, or we'll all die here!"
Amid the flashing lightning, someone roared with rage.
The surviving experts responded quickly. Yuan Power erupted as they unleashed their martial techniques, transforming into blades of light that tore toward the thunderlight army.
Thunder boomed across the field like an ancient battlefield awakening, and soon, the thunderlight army clashed with the invading cultivators in brutal combat.
"Let's go too."
Lin Fan spoke calmly, and with a flash, the trio exited the Black Tortoise Bell and dove into the chaotic battlefield.
To reach the deeper chambers of the Reincarnation Temple, they had to make it through this storm of thunderlight warriors.
As they entered the fray, silver light surrounded them and shadows began to charge toward them.
These were thunderlight soldiers wielding spears, their bodies glowing with electricity. Though their faces were featureless, the violent energy they radiated was terrifying.
"Stick close to me," Lin Fan warned.
With a thought, he activated his thunder-controlling power. A dome of thunderlight formed around them, altering the behavior of the approaching thunderlight warriors.
Incredibly, the lightning soldiers stopped attacking and instead diverted around them to strike at others.
"Let's keep going," Lin Fan said with a satisfied smile as his tactic worked, signaling Lin Dong and Mu Lingshan to move forward.
The two nodded, staying close as they advanced deeper into the temple.
"Big Brother Lin Fan, how did you do that? Why didn't the lightning soldiers attack us?" Mu Lingshan asked curiously as they moved.
Lin Fan chuckled. "That's a secret."
Behind them, the other cultivators had no such advantage. Without Lin Fan's methods, they were forced to blast their way through the thunderlight army.
Still, the sheer number and strength of those who came meant that many powerful cultivators began to break through the blockade through brute force and group attacks.
"There's a spatial fluctuation ahead. Looks like we're about to make it through," Lin Fan said softly as he sensed a silver vortex slowly rotating in the distance.
Lin Dong's eyes sharpened. "That silver vortex must lead to the true inner sanctum of the Reincarnation Temple."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's hurry in!" Mu Lingshan said eagerly.
Lin Fan smiled and, with the others, increased his speed toward the silver vortex.
Behind them, the group from Xuan Heaven Palace followed closely, along with other powerful experts.
As they crossed into the vortex, Lin Fan felt an overwhelming wave of spatial energy. Brilliant silver light filled his vision, forcing him to shut his eyes.
When the light faded and his vision adjusted, Lin Fan slowly opened his eyes.
Before them stretched a vast land, and scattered across it were countless temple structures.
However, most of them had collapsed into ruins. Yet from the scale of the remnants, it was easy to imagine how grand and imposing this place had once been.
The entire land was cloaked in shades of gray, filled with an air of decay. A sense of desolation and ancient heaviness weighed down the atmosphere—it was clear that this place had been lifeless for an unimaginably long time.
"So this is the temple? Looks pretty ruined… What treasures could still be left here?" Mu Lingshan muttered, wide eyes scanning the desolate land.
