Chapter 366 - Chapter 366: Sudden Change, the Terrifying Shadow!

Chapter 366: Sudden Change, the Terrifying Shadow!

Within the Thunder Lake, the slaughter continued. Lin Fan and his companions were also taking action, steadily collecting more Hearts of Thunder.

At the same time, beneath the surface, as the blood in the water grew thicker, the black aura surrounding the silver corpses intensified. The most massive of them, especially, was now covered in increasingly sinister black runes.

Whoosh whoosh—

Suddenly, more than a dozen streaks of ghostly black light shot up from the depths of the thunderrock trench, striking out at the closest cultivators with terrifying speed.

Squelch!

In an instant, over a dozen people were pierced through the chest by those withered, black-clawed hands.

The others quickly realized that the ghostly streaks were in fact silver corpses, now entirely pitch black, their eye sockets flickering with dark light.

After the initial panic, the cultivators began to retaliate, engaging the silver corpses in fierce combat. Blood filled the Thunder Lake, dying it with a deeper red.

"What's going on?!"

"Have these silver corpses been turned into puppets too?!"

Murmurs and questions spread among the crowd as more and more of the silver corpses surged out from the trench.

"Don't be afraid! These things aren't invincible! They have no consciousness, and they're not that hard to kill—just a bit numerous!" someone in the crowd shouted, trying to rally the others.

"As long as we break through them, we'll reach the bottom of the trench, where the Hearts of Thunder are definitely even higher quality!"

That shout ignited everyone's greed once more.

Immediately, countless cultivators surged forward, unleashing powerful attacks against the silver corpses.

Lin Fan and the others observed coldly from the sidelines, not making a move.

Boom boom!

As both sides clashed, the resulting shockwaves thundered across the lakebed. The tremendous power of the battle carved out a vacuum hundreds of meters wide, even pushing away the dense thunder magma.

Under the combined force of so many experts, dozens of silver corpses were crushed into powder in an instant.

"Damn it! Be more careful—if the silver corpses are destroyed, we won't get any Hearts of Thunder!" someone shouted angrily, clearly pained by the loss.

"Hmph, greedy fools. Do they think those things are just easy pickings?" Lin Fan sneered, shaking his head.

"What should we do?" Lin Dong asked, his eyes also burning with eagerness.

"We'll join in and collect a few Hearts of Thunder. But stay sharp—don't hold back like those idiots. Kill clean," Lin Fan instructed.

"Got it," Lin Dong nodded.

Mu Lingshan, on the other hand, looked visibly excited, eager to act.

The trio launched into the fray—but instead of diving into the center of the battlefield, they targeted lone silver corpses at the edges.

While strong, the corpses were no match for the trio.

Over time, they managed to gather a decent number of Hearts of Thunder.

Other cultivators also had some success. After all, the flow of silver corpses from the trench seemed endless.

Whoosh!

Just as everyone was immersed in hunting the silver corpses and collecting Hearts of Thunder, a beam of black light shot up from the depths.

This one… was far more terrifying than anything that had come before.

Everyone caught in its path was blown away, coughing blood, utterly helpless.

At the center of the black light, a massive figure slowly emerged. A dark, demonic aura radiated from it, as if a demon god had crawled out from the pits of hell.

"A Yi Mo?!"

Lin Dong's face changed drastically as he stared at the twisted silhouette, shock rising in his eyes.

Black light surged out like a tide, and everyone froze, stunned by the sudden change.

But as their gazes fell on the massive figure within the black glow, their expressions darkened.

The terrifying pressure it gave off made the hearts of everyone present tremble.

"What the hell is that thing?!"

"Why are there so many damn puppets in this temple?!"

"That thing looks way stronger than the silver corpses!"

"What's the big deal? We already took care of an entire horde of silver corpses. This is just one—can't be that bad, right?"

More murmurs erupted.

Encouraged by their earlier success, many of the cultivators weren't overly afraid. After all, they had strength in numbers.

"Is that a Yi Mo?" Lin Dong asked quietly, his tone grave. He looked at the massive figure and directed the question to Yan, the spirit of the Ancestral Stone.

"It's not a Yi Mo…" Yan replied after a pause, then explained the creature's nature to Lin Dong.

"Let's back off. If those people are so confident, let them try their luck first," Lin Fan said in a low voice.

Lin Dong had already decided to retreat after hearing Yan's explanation, and Mu Lingshan had no objections either.

The three of them backed away from the frontlines, staying ready to flee the Thunder Lake at any moment.

"That thing is strong. Everyone, stay alert," said a middle-aged man near Liu Xiangxuan.

"What is it exactly?" Liu Xiangxuan asked, her brows tightly furrowed.

"No idea… but it definitely won't be as easy to deal with as the other silver corpses," the man said, shaking his head.

"In that case, let's wait and see. Let the others test it out first," Liu Xiangxuan agreed.

BOOM!

All eyes were now locked onto the black figure as it finally stepped out of the dark light and revealed itself.

Only then did the crowd get a full look at its appearance.

Its body was several times larger than an average person, like a small giant.

Its skin, originally brilliant silver, was now covered with sinister, black demonic runes—crawling across its flesh like countless black worms, sending shivers down spines.

Its eyes were pure black, devoid of life, and the evil energy in them swept across the crowd.

Not a single person dared meet its gaze.

The powerful cultivators floated silently in place, staring at the creature, neither side daring to make the first move.

"Attack!"

At last, someone broke the silence. A sharp shout rang out, and more than a dozen figures shot forward, unleashing a storm of Yuan Power that rained down on the black figure from all directions.
