Morning sunlight slowly filtered through the hospital curtains, and for the first time in what felt like forever, the atmosphere inside the room felt… peaceful.
Calmer compared to before.
It had already been two days since my family visited Cairo, and until now, I still didn't know what exactly happened during their conversation with Rome that night.
But ever since then, Sylvester and Stephenson barely left our side anymore. And strangely enough, instead of focusing entirely on Cairo, it almost felt like they were watching Rome's every move.
I didn't know whether I should find that comforting or suspicious.
Honestly… I was curious, but I already knew asking Sylvester would be useless. He would probably just shrug casually before giving me one of his annoying grins.
Stephenson would be worse.
He'd probably accuse me of being nosy even though the conversation clearly involved me and the children in the first place.
