Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: Bidding Farewell to Professor Masaki

After talking with Professor Platane, there was finally some direction. Bond power. Ash tentatively named this power "Bond Power" based on Professor Platane's analysis.

Professor Platane also stated that he would continue to search for information to see if he could find anything special. As for the changes in moves, they were all considered effects caused by Bond Power.

However, according to Professor Platane, his power was different from Mega Evolution. Besides being difficult to cultivate, it couldn't be used on multiple Pokémon simultaneously.

It seems that Mega Evolution also caused fatigue to trainers and Pokémon, but he seemed to be able to use it on other Pokémon, which would obviously also cause fatigue. It was the same when he battled with Growlithe years ago, which is why he has been diligently training himself since then.

"Let's take it one step at a time!" Ash didn't overthink it. No matter what, this power brought good things, not just as Professor Platane said. This power was within him, and he could feel it firsthand.

This power had not yet reached its limit; his body told him that this was just the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps when this power grew stronger, he would naturally understand. If not, he would eventually go to Kalos, a region that was still an unknown world to him.

He contacted Professor Oak again and told him about his conversation with Professor Platane. Professor Oak was very curious and interested. In this world, humans with special powers were not considered anomalies.

Like psychics, as long as they didn't use their powers for evil, their existence was legal. Because Professor Platane was an expert in this field, Professor Oak also advised Ash to follow Professor Platane's suggestions.

Ash didn't object. Anyway, he had no direction now. Afterwards, he also told Professor Oak about the new move. Professor Oak readily agreed to help Ash register with the Alliance.

Many years ago, when humans first began interacting with Pokémon, move names were passed down from generation to generation. It wasn't until the Alliance was established that any new moves discovered would be registered with the Alliance, and the Alliance would release news of them.

The Alliance did this to cultivate more excellent trainers, to let trainers know that such moves existed, and to encourage them to try practicing them. Whether they could learn them depended on the individual trainer.

Professor Oak also inquired about the name of the new move. Ash had difficulty with naming, so he asked Professor Oak to help name it. Professor Oak did not refuse, and finally named the new move "Turbulent Surge."

It sounded very casual, but it did seem a little more powerful than ordinary Surf. Ash didn't pay too much attention to the move's name. To be honest, many moves were more casual than this.

However, determining the attribute made the professor a bit troubled. Although it incorporated electricity, it was ultimately set as a Water-type move and registered. After talking with Professor Oak, Ash bid him farewell and hung up the phone.

He turned his head and saw that the Pokémon were still sound asleep. Seeing this, Ash also walked over and sat down beside Pikachu on the sofa. Pikachu, in its sleep, seemed to sense him.

Its ears twitched slightly, but it didn't wake up. Ash gently stroked Pikachu's head, and Pikachu's perked ears drooped again. Unconsciously, Ash himself fell asleep on the sofa. Today, not only were the Pokémon tired, but Ash was also exhausted from using Bond Power.

Misty, seeing this scene, took a blanket and covered Ash. By nightfall, Ash and the Pokémon still hadn't woken up. Seeing Ash and the Pokémon sleeping so soundly, Brock and the others didn't disturb them during dinner. They just didn't know when, but the next morning, Professor Masaki only noticed when he woke up.

Ash was still lying on the sofa, but the Pokémon that were originally scattered around him had all curled up beside him. The small sofa looked very crowded, but Ash and the Pokémon all had smiles on their faces.

This was the first morning Professor Masaki woke up earlier than Ash. Professor Masaki knew that they were genuinely tired yesterday, so he carefully and gently rekindled the almost extinguished fire in the nearby fireplace, and the air immediately became warmer.

...

Around 8 o'clock, Ash and the Pokémon gradually woke up. Normally, Ash would be up by 5-6 AM. However, after this long sleep, their spirits were greatly restored, and the Pokémon had all regained their vitality.

Brock and Misty immediately called Ash and the Pokémon for breakfast. The Pokémon immediately rushed over and began to devour their food. Ash hadn't eaten anything last night, so he sat down beside the others and also began to enjoy a delicious breakfast.

"Dr. Masaki! We've bothered you for so many days. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Today we're preparing to set off." During breakfast, Ash looked at Dr. Masaki and said.

"Hehe, you're welcome. I'm also very happy to have you here these past few days. If there's an opportunity in the future, you're welcome to come back anytime." Dr. Masaki didn't show any reluctance after hearing this.

He knew that Ash and the others' goals meant they would leave sooner or later, and he himself was accustomed to living alone in the lighthouse. However, he had gotten along very well with Ash and the others these past few days. Misty and Brock, hearing this, also bid farewell to Dr. Masaki and thanked him for his care.

After breakfast, the three went back to their rooms to pack. They quickly finished packing. Ash had been training for a week, and Misty and Brock had also rested for a week. Now, all three of them stood ready. They came outside the lighthouse, and Professor Masaki also came out to see them off.

"Be careful on your journey!" Professor Masaki's farewell was simple.

"Oh, Professor, please accept this. I hope it helps you." Ash said, taking a few photos from his jacket pocket and handing them to Professor Masaki. Professor Masaki's expression froze as he looked at the photos.

"This... this is!!" Looking at the photos in Ash's hand, Professor Masaki showed a surprised expression. The photos in Ash's hand were taken near the lighthouse. In the pitch-black night, a huge shadowy figure's outline clearly emerged.
