The goblins reacted with terrifying speed.
The moment Covenant-Breaker sensed them properly, its will spread through the occupied world like rot finding cracks.
Orders moved at once. Black Mass monsters turned. Goblin towers flashed with corpse-green light. Hidden arrays awakened beneath the ground and along the hanging mountain roots.
Then the first wave found them.
Lucien looked up.
Seran did too.
And both of them laughed.
Because they had not even truly begun moving yet.
Then the world exploded.
The highland ruptured under a rain of bombardment. Bone-forged bolts screamed down from the goblin towers. Miasma-beasts lunged over fractured stone. Black-robed goblin casters arrived in layered formations, trying to close the area before the intruders could force open the battlefield.
They were too late.
