Yu Xiaogang's face turned deathly pale. Cold sweat poured down his back as his lips trembled uncontrollably.
Not far away, a rough-looking man with a scar running across his cheek smiled politely when he noticed Yu Xiaogang staring at him.
But to Yu Xiaogang, that smile was nothing short of devilish.
His heart began pounding violently, as if it might burst out of his chest.
Flander sensed something was wrong. He turned sharply toward Yu Xiaogang and saw him standing stiffly in place, his face as white as paper, sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Xiaogang, are you alright?" Flander asked anxiously.
Yu Xiaogang didn't answer.
He only continued muttering in disbelief, his eyes locked onto the scarred man.
"Why is he here… why… why…"
Soon, the clan guard brought the rough-looking man with a scar across his cheek before Yu Yuanzhen.
Yu Yuanzhen did not bother with pleasantries.
"Who are you," he demanded coldly, "and why do you possess a direct descendant token of my Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan?"
"Senior, my name is Yu Feng. I run a small business in a remote town," Yu Feng cupped his fists and introduced himself.
As for the second question, he paused for a moment and glanced at the panicking Yu Xiaogang from the corner of his eye.
Yu Xiaogang stood there like a statue, unable to move.
Yu Feng then continued,"As for the token, it was sold by a direct descendant of your clan."
"What?!"
The clan members were immediately offended.
Selling a clan token meant betraying the clan. They refused to believe that one of their own would commit such a disgraceful act.
"What nonsense are you talking about? We, the direct descendants of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, would rather die than sell our identity!"
"We would never betray our clan!"
"We would never bring shame upon the clan!"
Before Yu Yuanzhen could speak, the direct descendants roared one after another at Yu Feng, loudly declaring their loyalty.
Seeing their unity, Yu Yuanzhen's anger, already stirred by the day's events, eased slightly. He trusted his clan members and believed they would never insult the clan in such a way. There had to be something he did not yet understand.
"Take out the token," Yu Yuanzhen said. He wanted to verify whether the token was fake. Yu Feng might be able to fool the clan guards, but not him. He would inspect it personally.
"Here you go, Senior," Yu Feng replied calmly. He took out the token and handed it to Yu Yuanzhen without hesitation.
Yu Yuanzhen took the token and examined it carefully.
"It is real."
Soon, his brows furrowed deeply. The token was genuine, and Yu Feng's words echoed in his mind, this token had not been given as a favor, but sold. It was a blatant humiliation.
"Who?"
Yu Xiaogang flinched when he heard his father's roar. He began praying desperately for the gods to save him.
Yu Yuanzhen's anger exploded. Today, he had been betrayed and humiliated, yet he had nowhere to vent his rage. That frustration had been building all day, and now, hearing that someone in the clan had sold a clan token, all of it erupted at once. His gaze locked onto Yu Feng.
"Tell me who it is."
Seeing Yu Yuanzhen's furious expression, Yu Feng did not panic. He calmly raised his hand and pointed.
"Him."
When Yu Xiaogang saw the finger pointing at him, he knew his life was over.
His fear reached its peak.
Yu Yuanzhen followed the direction of the pointing finger, ready to unleash all his fury. But when he saw that the person being accused was his own son, his momentum collapsed. Even so, he clung to a final shred of hope, that his son had not betrayed the clan.
"Why…" Yu Yuanzhen's voice trembled as he spoke. He desperately hoped his something was wrong.
"Father, please listen to me. I never sold my token to him…" Yu Xiaogang panicked and tried to explain, but Yu Yuanzhen no longer believed him.
"Shut up. You are still trying to lie to me. Yu Feng, you tell me."
"Senior, a few years ago, Tang San came to my shop to borrow twenty thousand gold coins in order to pay Yu Xiaogang to take him as a disciple. Later, they attempted to default on the debt and refused to return the money. Fortunately, I had a signed document from Tang San, so their plan failed. This man then gave me this token as collateral. Even now, they still haven't repaid the money to redeem the token. That is why I came to the clan."
Yu Feng spoke without pausing, all the while observing Liu Erlong's expression. With these words, he crushed the last bit of affection she still held for Yu Xiaogang. What remained was only disgust. Yu Feng was satisfied.
Hearing this, everyone fell silent as they processed his words.
Twenty thousand gold coins to become a disciple.
Attempting to default on a debt.
Using a clan token as collateral.
After understanding the situation, they did not know what to say to Yu Xiaogang.

"Is this true?" he asked Yu Xiaogang, his voice completely devoid of emotion.
Hearing his father's tone, Yu Xiaogang was too afraid to say anything. He chose silence.
Seeing Yu Xiaogang remain silent, Yu Yuanzhen understood that everything Yu Feng had said was true.
Yu Yuanzhen slowly closed his eyes.
And in that moment,
He lost his son.
Yu Xiaogang panicked. Seeing that Yu Yuanzhen did not scold him made him even more anxious.
"Fath..."
"Who is your father?" Yu Yuanzhen interrupted coldly. "I never had a son like you."
He had had enough of Yu Xiaogang.
