Chapter 362: The Wrong Teleportation Location
Isayama Naraku left, taking Tsuchimiyaka Kagura with him. At Tsuchimiyaka Gaku's request, Kagura would once again reside with the Isayama family until the entire incident settled down.
"Uncle Naraku, how long until the subjugation team departs?"
On the streets of late-night Tokyo, Tsuchimiyaka Kagura sat in the backseat of the car, clutching her weapon. She stared at the desolate scenery outside the window for a while before turning to ask about the progress regarding the hunt for Isayama Yomi and Isayama Mei.
"Currently, the members of the subjugation team are still being selected. It will take about another day," Isayama Naraku replied, his tone full of helplessness. For one of the three prestigious families of Tokyo spiritualists to be unable to pick suitable candidates immediately was itself a manifestation of the clan's decline.
Buzz, buzz...
The ringtone of a mobile phone sounded from Kagura's pocket.
"Excuse me," she said to Naraku before hurriedly pulling the phone out. Upon seeing the name displayed on the screen, she froze on the spot.
"What is it?" Observing Kagura staring at her phone in a daze, the initially indifferent Naraku couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity.
"No, it's nothing. Just a call from a friend I know." Giving Naraku a sheepish smile, Kagura quickly pressed the answer button and turned her body to the side.
"Kagura, what's the situation in Tokyo like right now?"
Having just been randomly teleported to a street in Tokyo by Number Two, Hikigaya Hachiman surveyed the evil spirits surrounding him while inquiring about the current state of affairs.
"Very bad." Hearing Hachiman's question, Kagura hesitated for a moment before describing the situation with a touch of severity.
"Very bad, huh? I figured as much..." The evil spirits around him weren't worth Hachiman drawing his ghost-slaying blade. He tapped the air lightly with his finger, and a slender stream of spiritual energy manifested around his body. Under the control of his will, it easily swept away the surrounding spirits.
"Although the number of evil spirits in Tokyo was high when I visited last time, it was nowhere near this massive amount." Hearing the system notification that the battle had earned him nearly a thousand Spirit Coins, Hachiman couldn't help but feel worried about the current scenario.
One must realize that the vast majority of that spirit crowd consisted of low-level spirits. Even so, earning nearly a thousand coins from one encounter spoke volumes about how enormous the number of evil spirits in Tokyo had become.
"Is there any word on those two?" Having dealt with the spirits blocking his path, Hachiman continued to ask over the phone about the whereabouts of Isayama Yomi and Isayama Mei. Since they were currently the Nine-Tailed Fox's puppets, their actions could, to a certain extent, help him deduce the Fox's current plans.
"There is." Kagura glanced back at Isayama Naraku before lowering her voice to recount how the spiritual beasts of the Isayama and Izuna families had been stolen.
"So, the Nine-Tailed Fox's next target is the Tsuchimiyaka family?" After Kagura briefly explained the state of the three families, Hachiman arrived at the same conclusion as Tsuchimiyaka Gaku.
"Probably. Onii-chan, where are you right now? Can you come to Tokyo to help us?" Because Hachiman had left earlier that day, Kagura was unaware that he had already arrived in Tokyo. Hearing him show such concern for the situation, she instinctively wanted to ask this "Exorcist" to join the battlefield as reinforcements.
"I'm already in Tokyo."
"Eh?!" Hearing Hachiman's answer, Kagura ignored Naraku's surprised look and lunged upward from her seat. Naturally, the consequences were immediate...
"Ugh, that hurts..." Her head collided with the car roof, and Kagura immediately crouched down. However, the physical pain couldn't suppress the joy in her heart. Coming to Tokyo at a time like this, Hachiman definitely intended to handle the situation, didn't he?
"Um, Onii-chan, where are you exactly?" Kagura, wishing she could sprout wings and fly to Hachiman's side immediately, hurriedly asked for his location.
"I'm probably in... Akihabara?" Hearing her question, Hachiman looked around, trying to find a landmark coordinate. However, as he raised his head to examine his surroundings closely, he suddenly realized that the street he was on didn't seem to be an ordinary shopping street...
"A-Akihabara?!" Kagura was indeed shocked by his answer. But then, she felt a sense of realization. After all, there was no rule stating that a Lord Exorcist couldn't have certain special hobbies, right?
"Don't get the wrong idea. While I do like otaku culture, I haven't reached that level of perversion yet. The only reason I'm here is because there was a slight problem with the teleportation location..." Hearing Kagura's tone, Hachiman knew she was thinking of something strange. To prevent his reputation from becoming inexplicably ruined, he quickly offered an explanation.
"Is that so..." Sure enough, after hearing his explanation, Kagura's tone relaxed.
"Of course that's it!" Hachiman felt like he wanted to cry but had no tears. He had come here in a hot-blooded shonen-style to fight the Nine-Tailed Fox; why did he have to be treated like a pervert the moment he arrived?
"Sorry. Please wait there, Onii-chan. I'll head over right away..." After finishing the call, Kagura looked up and ordered the driver to reroute to Akihabara.
"Are you going to pick up your friend?" Isayama Naraku, who had been resting with his eyes closed since Kagura took the call, opened them now that it was over.
"Yes. Sorry, Uncle Naraku, we'll have to take a detour."
"No matter. I'm sure you have your reasons. Besides, I'm quite interested in this 'Onii-chan' you speak of." Naraku smiled kindly, his eyes full of anticipation for meeting Hachiman. Given that Kagura was already at the General Grade and still spoke so respectfully to the man on the other end, he assumed it could only be that person, right?
However, compared to the excitement of meeting a legendary figure, Naraku was currently more curious about Kagura. How exactly did this little girl manage to get on speaking terms with that Great Lord? And judging by the conversation, their relationship seemed quite good...
