Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Big sister

Inside a towering skyscraper, the office was ornamented with gold as Raizan sat on his chair, staring at multiple holographic screens in the air.

The one in the middle showed the video of Caesar repeatedly getting punched by Cardinal in the corner while the referee was trying to seperate them.

Raizan's eyes shifted to the other hologram screen and saw the numbers rising. Raizan's eyes then moved to another holographic screen and saw countless comments flooding in.

"Two decades ago, the Mizukai family decided to be affiliated with EBW. By donating yons to that company and helping in anyway possible, our family gained status of 'VIP'." Raizan said within, "The public interpretes us as guests but in the end, we have more influence over the company than the ones who run it themselves.

Yet... I never understood why our family would be associated with something like this. I never understood why Akari or the others would take interest in this company.

Aside from control, what is there to be truly gained from it? Why send funds if we are not getting anything meaningful in return?

First Kaezan, now Caesar. To invest yons in humiliating debtors rather than taking from them..."

Raizan took notice of a certain comment: "AmItheonlyonewhothinkssheishot?"

Raizan then took notice of other comments saying similar things about Caesar: "Ongod, thisnewbieishot", "Nepoornot, she'ssofine", "Well, thisisherfirstmatch, noteveryonewinstheirfirstmatch", "Mybabe" "I'msimping", "Baby".

"Hmmm." Raizan said as he slightly tilted his head.

Elsewhere in a cemetery called Happy Havens Memorial, Caesar stood in a graveyard, digging a grave and was wearing a black coat that reached to her knees, a black shirt, black leggings and brown boots.

During her work, Caesar heard a laughter from a feminine voice and when she turned to the direction, she saw a little girl running towards a male and female human while holding a piece of paper.

"Mama! Papa! I did it! I got scholarship into Sir Ivangton school!" The little girl said while smiling.

"Oh really?" The father asked as he raised his daughter by the waist while smiling, "This is calls for a celebration!"

"Our little daughter deserves a huge one for making us proud!" The mother said while smiling as well.

Seeing this scene, Caesar couldn't help but warmly smile. However that moment made Caesar recall her past with her parents ten years ago.

Little Caesar stood in front of her parents, trembling as her beastfolk father was staring at a piece of paper and scowling while her human mother was leaning against the wall with both arms crossed.

Silence hung in the air for a while until her father glanced at her and spoke.

"You cheated, didn't you?" Caesar's father asked while glaring.

"N-no! I didn't cheat! I-I worked hard to get the admission into Sir Ivangton." Caesar fearfully answered while clutching her small hands together.

"I don't believe you." Caesar's father replied, "You are too dull to even have the brains to get something like this."

"B-but i did, papa!" Caesar replied, "I stayed up reading and working hard. I-I want to be a pilot when I grow up."

"Pilot, huh?" Caesar's father said as he slightly tilted his head, "That's a very bold dream coming from a girl like you."

"My, my, my." Caesar's mother said with a smile as she slowly shook her while her eyes were closed, "Children these days are always wanting to push above their station. Always wanting to reach for the stars."

Caesar's mother then chuckled and rubbed her forehead with her hand.

"Tell me, girl... Even if you didn't cheat..."

"Do you honestly believe we would spend a single rux coin or yon note on you in that school?" Caesar's mother said as she instantly opened her eyes and stared down at Caesar coldly.

Seeing the cold stare of her mother, Caesar trembled with fear.

"Over our dead bodies would any child of ours become greater than us." Caesar's father said as he slowly tore the admission letter.

Tears began to well up in Caesar's eyes as she saw this happen.

"Now, get out." Caesar's father said as he slightly tilted his head.

After recalling the moment, Caesar shook her head and took notice that the girl and her family had gone.

The wind blew as Caesar stared at the empty street before she resumed her work.

"You two never lived shit for lives, anyway." Caesar said within, " 'Greaterthanus' my ass."

Later in the night as Caesar arrived home, drained from her jobs, she placed her forehead on the door while her ears drooped before opening it.

As Caesar entered, she first yawned and stretched her body.

"Rai... Eyo... I'm home." Caesar said.

However, no response came from anyone which made Caesar pause and sigh.

"Right... probably asleep." Caesar said.

Caesar slightly groaned as she took off her boots and collapsed on the old couch with her head titled backwards.

Caesar stared at the ceiling for a moment before snapping her head forward and took notice of the dining room light being on which led her to furrow her brow.

Caesar then stood on her feet and walked towards it.

Arriving at the dining room, she caught sight of a covered plate on the table and on top of the covered plate was a small handwritten note.

Caesar picked up the note and stared at it with a raised brow. On the note, it was written:"Tothebestbigsisterintheworld."

This made Caesar smile softly at the note and close her eyes.

"First, you made me breakfast, now this. What's with you two, really? Why are you trying so hard...?" Caesar asked within.

She lifted the plate cover and on the plate itself was rice, plantain, and a generous chunk of turkey.

Seeing this , Caesar's eyebrows rose.

"Wow. I definitely wasn't expecting this." Caesar said within.

She walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge for a bottle of water only for her to see another note taped on the inside:

"We already prepared your bath. The water's warm!"

Caesar paused and her mouth slightly opened as she once again was caught off guard.

Caesar had a remembrance of herself years ago, shielding her little brothers with her body while her white top was soaked red.

The boys quivered in fear while Caesar glanced at her father as her face was brusied and bleeding.

"Move... Girl." Her father ordered with a dangerous glare as his irises glowed under the faint light.

Another memory takes place as younger Caesar was laying on bed while shivering and sweating profusely.

The youngest, Eyo stood beside her, gently pressing a wet towel on her forehead until Rai ran in and began to pant while holding a small paper bag and a cup of water.

"I got the medicine... Stole it from father's wallet." Rai said, "I had to. Neither of them wanted to help. Don't worry, sis, you're gonna be okay."

After remembering those times, Caesar tilted her head down.

"Best sister in the world, huh? No, you two are the best in the world. The best siblings I could ever ask for." Caesar said in her heart, "Before you two were born, I was all alone. Taking the brunt of papa and mama's abuse with no one to comfort me.

But when you two came..."

"Remember who you are trying to protect." Balland's voice replayed in Caesar's head.

Caesar let out a groan as she snapped her head backwards and sighed.

Caesar then dropped her head and stared at the bottle water in her hand.

"What am I doing?" Caesar asked herself softly, "Really what am I doing? So stupid.

I entered to protect them from the hell they were supposed to experience. So why am I acting like this?

Balland is right. I am an ero-wrestler whether I like it or not, so it is best to learn something, right?"

Caesar glanced at the food set for her at the dinning table and smiled warmly.

"Right." Caesar continued, "I can not afford to let anything happen to them.

It will be unpleasant and disgusting..."

Caesar closed her eyes and sighed.

"Yeah... Terribly disgusting." Caesar continued speaking in her mind, "But... It is my duty as the oldest to protect them and that's what I intend to do."

Caesar then sighed and spoke in her mind again.

"God help me...."

Caesar brought out her phone, went to her contact list, found Balland's name on her screen and clicked it.

The phone rang for sometime until he finally picked.

"Hello?" Balland said.

"Hey, boss. Good evening." Caesar said, "I... Uh... Hope I'm not disturbing you or something?"

"Good evening, and no, you're not. What can I help you with?" Balland asked.

"I... Uhm... Is the offer still available? You know... The offer to train?" Caesar asked.

"Well, well, well. You changed your mind faster than I expected. Yes. The offer is still available." Balland replied.

"Great! So where can we meet and what time?" Caesar asked with a slight smile.

"I will inform you when it is time, but... Thank you for taking the offer." Balland replied.

"Don't thank me. I'm just doing what a big sister needs to do." Caesar replied as she glanced again at the food her brothers prepared while smiling warmly.
