Chapter 359 - Chapter 358: Tomb Raider Officially Launched

The collaboration with Disney ended there. Although Kyle was quite annoyed, he didn't take it too seriously.

The current Disney Group is indeed a behemoth, but with such severe internal conflicts and struggles, it is powerless to target Kyle.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie will ultimately have to be handled by Page Pictures alone.

But, not now!

The production of "Spider-Man" and "Harry Potter" is not yet complete, so Page Pictures is unable to launch another A-list major production and can only make low-budget films.

"Just wait a year, we can afford to wait," Kyle said.

Just then, there was a knock on the office door.

Chief assistant Alexander walked in and said, "Boss, I just received a call from Disney President Robert Iger himself. He wants to talk to you."

Robert Iger, the future helmsman of Disney?

"Okay, I agree. You arrange the time," Kyle said.

"Understood, boss."

After Alexander left, Kyle opened his computer again and checked the Nasdaq stock market.

After two days of stability, the Nasdaq market surged again.

And it surged by 90 points in one go!

The Nasdaq index has now reached 4230 points, not far from its peak of 5048 points on March 13th in the future.

Paying attention to Nasdaq and paying attention to Gale Capital has clearly become a key focus of Kyle's daily work recently.

With a business worth billions of dollars, Kyle must take it extremely seriously.

In the evening.

Kyle and Disney President Robert Iger had dinner together at a restaurant in the Burbank area.

"Mr. Page, is there really no possibility of our two parties collaborating on the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' project?" Robert couldn't help but ask again.

Upon hearing this, Kyle immediately shook his head: "Copyright.

We will not budge an inch."

"Then if I persuade Chairman Eisner to give up the copyright dispute, would Mr. Page still be willing to cooperate with us?" Robert said in a deep voice.

"Haha!"

Kyle immediately burst out laughing and sneered, "Iger, do you think you can persuade that stubborn guy Eisner?"

Robert Iger: "..."

Who is Michael Eisner, the chairman of Disney?

He is the famous Disney tyrant, a very arrogant guy!

In the 1980s, the Disney Group fell into financial difficulties, heavily indebted, and the box office performance of many of its films was far below expectations. In this predicament, both internally and externally, Roy Disney, a core member of the Disney family within the Disney Group, made an important decision.

He hired an outsider, Michael Eisner, to serve as CEO of the Disney Group, hoping that he could turn the tide.

It must be said that Michael Eisner succeeded!

Under his reforms, Disney quickly got back on track. In just five years, Disney's market value more than tripled, and Disney successfully listed on the U.S. stock market.

Later, in a move akin to a snake swallowing an elephant, a small fish devouring a big one, it acquired ABC Television, one of America's largest television stations, with a market value of over 16 billion U.S. dollars.

This act of a snake swallowing an elephant shocked the entire United States.

"Michael Eisner is a business genius!" Countless people praised him.

Thereafter, Disney embarked on a path of crazy mergers and acquisitions, acquiring one company after another. Even the rise of Steve Jobs' Pixar Animation was entirely due to Michael Eisner's support.

A media empire, a veritable behemoth, was completed in Michael Eisner's hands.

But... the members of the Disney family within the Disney Group also realized what was happening.

The family's shares had been diluted to less than 6%!

The entire Disney Group was almost completely controlled by Michael Eisner, this external professional manager, in a form of insubordination, and he had virtually become the emperor of Disney.

If the Disney family members didn't act, then the Disney Group would completely change its surname and no longer belong to the Disney family.

Thus, a nearly irreconcilable struggle erupted between the two sides.

"Iger, all of Hollywood knows that you are on Roy Disney's side, not part of Michael Eisner's faction. Not to mention how greedy Eisner himself is, just because of Roy Disney, Eisner won't listen to your opinion."

Kyle laughed, "Cooperation? It's impossible now!"

It must be said that Robert Iger is indeed Robert Iger. This future helmsman of Disney, after a few seconds of melancholy, quickly returned to normal.

"Even if a deal doesn't go through, we can still be friends, right?" Robert raised his glass in invitation.

Kyle returned the toast: "Naturally!"

For the rest of the time, with no talk of work, the atmosphere became much more relaxed and pleasant.

After dinner, both parties went home.

In the car.

"Boss, Robert Iger is truly remarkable! He subtly resolved our grievances with Disney and even managed to become your friend," Alexander said.

Kyle nodded: "Putting everything else aside, his way of dealing with people alone makes one feel like they're bathed in a spring breeze."

Robert Iger is naturally a formidable figure; otherwise, he wouldn't have become Disney's CEO after Michael Eisner stepped down, and then later the chairman of the Disney Group.

All of this proves that his tactics and cunning are top-notch... The next day.

After finishing his ablutions, Kyle did not go to Page Pictures, nor did he go to any subsidiary of Golden Dawn Entertainment Group, but instead went to Paramount Pictures.

The "Tomb Raider" project is about to officially launch!

"Welcome, Mr. Page!" Ms. Sherry Lansing said on behalf of Paramount Pictures.

Kyle was quite pleased with this welcome.

After some polite business pleasantries, Sherry Lansing arranged for Jordan to take Kyle to the project team...

"Mr. Page, this way please," Jordan gestured.

Upon hearing this, Kyle immediately chuckled: "Jordan, come on, we're old friends."

Jordan smiled.

With his boss, Sherry Lansing, still present, Jordan, as a subordinate, would certainly not dare to be presumptuous, even if he was familiar with Kyle.

Soon, Kyle and Jordan arrived at the "Tomb Raider" project team.

Upon Kyle's arrival, everyone in the project team immediately stood up to welcome him.

"Kyle, this is Tom Harris. He is the executive producer for the 'Tomb Raider' project. Tom also served as executive producer for 'The Truman Show,' which made a name for itself in Hollywood last year," Jordan introduced.

"Mr. Harris, I hope we have a pleasant collaboration in the future," Kyle said, shaking his hand.

Kyle knew about Tom Harris.

Although he had never independently served as the head producer for a major film production, always serving as an assistant, or executive producer, his experience was indeed quite rich, and Kyle was very happy to partner with such a person.

Next... screenwriters, planners, finance, casting directors... Kyle met them all.

Compared to collaborating with Disney, Kyle was very satisfied with the collaboration with Paramount; at least Paramount showed full sincerity.

The "Tomb Raider" movie has a total investment of 80 million US dollars.

This is Kyle's first time collaborating with a film company outside of Page Pictures as a producer, which holds milestone significance.

"The first step in our current work is to select a director and the actress to play the lead role of Lara," Kyle announced loudly to everyone.

In the original timeline, Lara, played by Angelina Jolie, captivated movie audiences worldwide.

Kyle was no exception.
