Ping's POV:
"Those fools! We were never going to win this war, can't they see that? And with that slut in charge it won't even be a fight, just a one-sided slaughter." I grumbled in frustration as I walked with brisk steps towards my destination.
I had already expected something like this to happen, after all I am the rightful heir to the Yang clan, unlike that nincompoop who took over through pure luck and selling her body to men of actual power. That is why I had already contacted them in advance to tell them of what she was planning in hopes they might spare me and what remains of my clan once this has come to an end. Last I dealt with them they turned on me after I was unable to give them their payment in full, as one of the items I had promised them had been destroyed alongside my grandfather early on, but this time is different. This time, all they want is my fool of a brother and his bastard child.
"Come out! It is I!" I muttered as I reached the secluded part of the forest.
Soon after, I could feel the atmosphere change, as everything went completely silent, likely due to some kind of sound isolating barrier being erected around me. Not long after, a cloaked figure emerged from the shadows of a nearby tree.
"My oh my! To think the great Yang Ping would deign to contact us again after all these years! It was truly a shock to hear from you again, especially after what you did!" The bothersome dragonnewt spoke.
"Well, as I tried to explain to you back then, the ring was lost with my grandfather! If you have any complaints than take it up with your allies!"
"As I explained, that ring would not be so easily destroyed! But let's not sour the mood by bringing up the past! I want to hear about this important matter of great interest you spoke of in your message!" He said.
"The war plans, and the locations of my brother and niece during the war! I can give you this, but in exchange I want you to spare myself and whatever remains of my clan by the conflict's conclusion!"
"Pft! Hahaha! Oh, you never change!"
"Excuse me?"
"I know it has been some time, but don't tell me you have forgotten. Poor Yang Ping, ousted from your position by your younger brother, you turned to us for help. In exchange for breaking your brother and making you the leader of your clan, you would become our spy and give us the Yang Dragon Ring! If not for your timely cooperation, we might still have been fighting on the 3rd continent to this day! Such a shame you could not hold up your end of our deal or we wouldn't have had that falling out!"
"Hmph! Was it not you who just said not to bring up the past!"
"Oops! Silly me! You know I can be a bit of a klutz sometimes! I apologize! Now, you only want us to spare your remaining clansmen, right? That can be arranged!"
"Well, actually, I have one more condition!"
"Oh? I am not certain we can accommodate any more than this! My superiors are still rather iffy about trusting you after last time! Even I, was half expecting this to be some kind of trap at first! So, asking for anymore might not be possible!"
"I need your side to ensure the death of my mother during this war! Preferably as soon as possible!"
"…! Huh? I mean, blood as cold as the dragons themselves! You truly are befitting to lead the clan of Yang!"
