"Run!!!"
The streets of New York were filled with terrified screams. Both human and alien residents of Earth fled for their lives. The situation at the center of the city was nothing short of terrifying. Although many had escaped in bunkers, there was still a large number outside who had either died or been injured by the besieging aliens.
This was also the same situation for most countries in the world, but the most chaotic were Angel Grove and New York. Whether it was the 'calamity attracting' trait of both cities or the aliens' goal, the concentration of chituaris and Kelzaks here was more than in other places on Earth.
Because of the sheer number of alien invaders, the two cities had been completely breached. Even the safety bunkers were attacked by them at each moment, frightening the people inside.
Suddenly… the sky above New-York trembles as a multicolored vortex appeared afterwards, startling both invaders and Earthlings alike.
Specifically, the Earthlings, whose faces turned pale upon seeing another strange portal appearing above them.
"Is it another invasion?"
"It's the end of the world! We're all doomed."
"Oh no, I haven't even got to live my life yet, and it's going to end! I can't accept this!!"
The Earthling became even more frantic, running as if their lives depended on it. This situation also puzzled the intelligent aliens, as there was no mention of any backup arriving this soon. The invaders knew they were only two forces attacking Earth for this mission, so they were confused about the new arrivals.
Whoosh~ Whoosh~~ Whoosh~~~….
The next moment, several colored lights burst out of the vortex, rushing towards the people below at a terrifying speed. The Earthlings paled, and the invaders became apprehensive.
Both invaders and Earthlings could not react before the shining lights arrived before them in seconds. Then –
Bang! Boom!
Both Chitauris and Kelzaks felt a terrifying force act ruthlessly upon them. Their bodies and armors shattered upon impact, with most of them turned to dust by the blinding multi-colored light. This series of actions happened so fast that the Earthlings couldn't catch what had happened. All they saw was a flashing light arriving and the attacking invaders turning to dust.
But instead of being happy about the invader's destruction, they felt fear. They couldn't be blamed; the current threat and pressure from the invading aliens had messed up their psyche. And as humans, they inherently feared the unknown; whether it was being helpful or harmful to them didn't matter. Moreover, it had been a very long time since Earth had been invaded. Moreover, None of the new generation had ever experienced it; only stories and histories were told to them.
So, their current fear was justifiable.
The remaining invaders, both in the air and on land, were instantly gripped by fear. Although most of them were unintelligent and acted on instinct, they still felt the approach of death, not only because the colored lights turned most of them to ash, but also because it was still standing in between them with an undiminished intensity.
As the dust cleared, the 'lights' were finally revealed. Amidst the crowd stood eight valiant heroes, and leading them was an even more radiant individual clad in red, with his cape flowing lightly in the wind.
"It-It's the rangers!"
"We're saved! We're saved!!"
The humans and alien residents of Earth burst into joy upon seeing their saviors, with the gripping fear of the unknown gone. They even momentarily forgot the threat from the invading forces. All they felt was relief.
The turn of the situation was truly unexpected for most of them, as many had lost hope.
The lights dispersed, and before them stood eight heroes, six being rangers and the other two spider heroes. They were the omni-force.
The momentum of their initial attack was nothing short of stunning. The lights around them still shimmered as if celebrating their entrance into the battle. If one looked closely at this team, one might have the illusion that no threat could stop them.
"Omni-force, battle formation now!" Zayne, clad in his phase one omni-suit, commanded, not bothering to look at the admiring gazes of his fellow Earthlings.
Fwoosh~ Fwoosh~~ Fwoosh~~~
Like shooting stars falling from the sky, the team split into several directions, attacking the stunned invaders with full force. In the seconds that followed, dazzling arrays of attacks engulfed both the Chitauri and Kelzaks, leaving them with no room to either fight back or escape. They could only wait for death.
Tricera smash!
Tyranno staff…. whirlwind!
Ptera spin! Brachio rage!
Cosmic webs! Dragosaur flame!
Ghost hands!!!
The team, with their new powers, attacked from all sides. In one moment, there was a phantom of a Triceratops and Brachiosaur; the next, a red whirlwind, followed by a flash of yellow, then a starry-like web, a white flame, and finally a ghostly spider phantom.
Boom! Bang! Bang!
Sounds of explosions rang out as each attack collided with the invading forces, with many of the invaders dying out and turning to ash that drifted away like smoke. Each attack released by both the rangers and spider heroes was filled with contained anger, causing each strike to be filled with even more power than intended.
The omni-force was enraged and went for straight kills. With their new powers and upgraded strength at the C+ tier, the team was like reapers to the invaders.
Moreover, because they were so fast, the situation turned around in a flash, and Zayne didn't even need to take action.
Their control over their new strength has exceeded my expectations. As expected of the team I chose." Zayne felt both smug and proud of his team. He had truly picked gems to be part of his team. All of them were exceptionally talented, absorbing all he had taught them like a sponge.
But he wasn't overly surprised; each of them was a famous hero in their respective universes, and having this much talent was understandable.
Then, Zayne's eyes under his visor flashed red, and his gaze turned upwards as he stared at the enemies in the sky. They were much more than the ones on land. Not only that, but he felt several monsters lurking at each side of the city as if waiting for something.
"Tyrannodrones," Zayne murmured grimly. "I'll deal with you lots later. First, let's get the civilians to safety."
Then, with a wave of his hand, he activated his famous skill. "Innocence"
A conceptual power burst out from his body, acting upon all that exists. The wounded people healed, and the damaged buildings reverted to normal, as if they had never been destroyed. Even the overthrown and damaged vehicles turned back to their former state.
The onlookers who were worried about insurance after this incident became extremely happy, with most heaving sighs of relief. It seems their worries about insurance and debt were no longer a problem. They couldn't be more grateful to Zayne.
They wanted to go forward and thank him, but suppressed the urge due to the current situation. They would do that after.
"Now that I'm done…." Zayne looked up at the sky, which was filled with Leviathan, his gaze burning. "It's time to stretch a little."
He jogged on his feet twice, stretching several limbs. Then….
Boom!
He disappeared from the spot and leapt into the sky, leaving only residual images at his former spot. The Chitauri soldiers on hover ships and a floating mammoth couldn't even react before a streak of red light appeared before them. Zayne, with his flight momentum, pierced everything before him, leaving only destruction in his wake.
Even the giant chitauri Leviathan couldn't resist this red light moving with overwhelming destructive power and was pierced through easily. Their massive body fell to the ground, but due to the Innocence skill, it couldn't damage the ground or hurt the civilians. It could only lie there dead, serving as a monument for Zayne's current feat.
Zayne moved with speed, each step he took on air like lightning, which appeared to the onlookers in zig-zag arcs that destroyed both Thanos and Lothor's forces. One must know that, although he was a newly advanced B- tier life-form, his combat power was higher. With his numerous means and powerful weapons, Zayne could exchange blows with a newly advanced A-tier strong man. So, these invading forces were like ants before him, slaughtered at will.
The only reason Zayne had been worried about them was their terrifying numbers. These aliens were like a swarm of ants; although lacking in power, they made up for it with their sheer numbers. Moreover, they attacked almost every part of the planet, and Zayne was the only person who couldn't stop them all at once by himself. Even with his team and other forces on Earth, it would still be difficult to resist them all without severe casualties on their side.
Zayne increased his speed to maximum, appearing in front of a giant gash in the sky like lightning, overwhelming the incoming invaders with his attacks.
"Omni-blast!"
A red beam shot out, clearing out thousands of incoming chitauris and Kelzaks. But he was not happy with his temporary lead in this battle. The ever-incoming aliens didn't stop for a moment, invading Earth from all sides.
Before arriving at the battlefield, he had been very surprised.
Could Thanos's forces still invade without Loki's help? But as he thought about Lothor's cooperation with Thanos, understanding dawned. This universe was inherently chaotic, with many strange and complicated situations occurring. So, two galactic overlords helping one another for benefits on Earth wasn't strange.
This invasion made Zayne understand the strange workings of 'Fate' in these universes. Earth was fated to have this day, and hardly anything could change it. Even if anyone successfully changed it, cosmic forces and time organizations like Time Force and TVA would not allow it. Even if they couldn't find the cause, rectifying the effect would be extremely easy for them. This was especially prominent in several movies and comics that Zayne had read before transmigrating, so he understood the strictness of changing fate here.
But who was he? He was the grid's chosen. The Omni-ranger. He was capable of changing these things while also being unnoticed by anyone. So, that was what he would do today.
Boom!
Zayne appeared before a Leviathan and swung his right fist with terrifying force. Like cracked glass, the Leviathan's body shattered upon impact and fell straight to the ground with a thud, knocking down some of the flying chituari around it.
His eyes were cold as he smashed through the alien forces with no mercy. At this moment, he was more like a demon than a hero.
A hero to the humans and a nightmare to the invaders.
"In your next life, make sure to stay far away from Earth." Zayne held a squirming alien by its face and squeezed hard, bursting its head apart like he was squashing a bug.
He didn't stop there but made sure every alien in the sky was taken care of. With Zayne's capabilities and arsenals, this was completed in minutes. For a moment, he became the only figure left in the sky. His figure obscured the sun as the omni-suit, outlined by the light, looked incredibly heroic before the onlookers below.
It was as if he was declaring, 'I alone am supreme' before the humans and invaders.
"New-York is stable for now, let's go to other places." With a thought, a rainbow-like vortex appeared before Zayne as he stepped into it.
The next few minutes after that were hell for the invaders.
In several places around the world, people of Earth captured a red figure appearing in many cities and destroyed the aliens with ease. Whether it was in Africa, Asia, Europe, or other continents, the red figure appeared. He saved the humans and stopped the invaders. Leaving them at the mercy of death.
Many who experienced it head-on had already etched the image of that gallant figure in their hearts, never to be forgotten for generations to come.
In space....
The bald commander and a figure shrouded in black were staring intently at a hologram displaying what was currently happening on Earth.
The bald commander's expression was currently not pleasant. His earless face became even more disfigured as he watched his fleet destroyed with ease by a native of a small planet.
"How is this possible?" The bald commander gnashed his teeth as he slammed his hands on the control table. "How can a native be this powerful? Isn't this just a backwater planet with a low civilization level?"
The figure shrouded in black also had a solemn aura as it stared intently at the recorded video. His eyes flashed with a vague recognition, but he said nothing.
Looking at how easy Zayne had decimated their forces with almost no casualties on his side, both commanders couldn't believe their eyes.
"Is this why Lord Thanos told me to be careful?" The bald commander felt bitter inside. Moments ago, he had been daydreaming about profiting off this invasion, but now it seems he had been foolish.
"What is our next point of action?" A hoarse voice came out of the shrouded figure.
The bald commander stared intently at Zayne's figure and replied with unconcealed hatred. "Overwhelm him"
"All units listen to my command, send all remaining forces. Attack no one but the red armored native. Make sure to overwhelm him to death!" The bald commander barked an order, and the shrouded figure did the same to Lothor's forces.
Fwoosh! Fwoosh!! Fwoosh!!!
All remaining spaceships and Leviathan of both forces charged out. Millions upon millions of alien invaders charged at the massive space cut in the middle of space near the solar system. As they couldn't enter Earth directly due to a strange force field that had previously obstructed them, the only way was to force a way in. So, with a little help from Loki and Lothor's forces, they made a passageway to enter the planet.
The moving forces were numerous, appearing like a swarm of bees as they approached the space cut connected to Earth. If anyone saw this scene, they would be scared out of their mind. The two invading forces never intended to lose; the size of both their forces was a trump card for this mission. One they thought would never be used but was, due to the abrupt turn of the situation.
But what they never knew was that this mission was a nightmare and a trap for them. Not just because of Zayne, but also due to the lurking forces also contending for Earth from within.
