Sunshine's finger snapped up, pointing directly at Howard's sweating forehead. "You. Since you're so offended... you won't mind eating some of my food, would you?"
She touched the fork and stabbed into a small piece of meat. Then, she held it up, towards Howard. "Come on, just one bite. I promise, it won't kill you."
Howard wiped cold sweat from his upper lip. "I... I've already eaten my fill. I have a sensitive stomach."
Hades waved his finger slowly from side to side, "Howard, all kings in history had poison testers. I am willing to look beyond your past betrayals and forgive you. All you have to do is take one bite."
Every eye in the room focused on Howard. The man sitting beside it nudged him forward. Howard pushed back, refusing to pick up the fork.
Sunshine stood up. The movement was slow and deliberate. She picked up her plate, walked around the long table, and placed it down with a heavy clack right in front of Howard.
"Eat," she whispered.
