Inside his private room in the Matrix Purgatory—
Orsaga, the chaos-bringer, had just returned from his most recent mission world.
As for the other Purgators?
They had long since perished.
They weren't worth much, true, but since they were wandering around causing a ruckus, Orsaga figured he might as well kill them all. After all, better to kill the wrong target than let a threat slip by—something he deeply believed in.
As the mission settlement screen flickered before him, Orsaga casually pulled out a few spicy skewers and began to eat with a relaxed air.
Another so-called five-star rating.
As always, he selected the double reward bonus.
[257,745 Points]
Significantly fewer than in the previous world.
That was because Orsaga hadn't made any effort to complete the objectives this time. He had taken the route of domination and conquest.
But that didn't bother him in the slightest—he never cared much for these so-called "points" to begin with.
What he truly valued… was faith energy.
A single devoted believer could offer about 1 Evolution Point per month after being processed through the system.
And now, thanks to the Church of the Crimson Hour, he was receiving roughly 2.6 billion Evolution Points per month—and still growing.
While this wasn't as fast as looting and slaughter, it was far better than grinding it out like some wage slave.
'Maybe preaching once in a while isn't so bad after all~~'
With that thought in mind, he exited his private chamber and headed for the neutral trade zone.
---
At a familiar stall, he saw a familiar face.
Li Hanhe — a Blasphemous Priest by profession, and a black-market middleman on the side.
Seeing Orsaga approaching, Li Hanhe's eyes lit up instantly—he recognized this regular customer at once.
'Business was here!'
Wearing his usual ingratiating grin, he greeted him enthusiastically:
"Ahhh~ Benefactor! You're as dashing as ever!. Back again to bless this humble priest's small business?"
Orsaga didn't bother with pleasantries. He got straight to the point.
"I need you to sell some items for me."
"No problem, no problem! Just so we're clear, I usually take a 10% commission."
Then, perhaps worried the commission might scare off his client, Li Hanhe rubbed his hands together like a seasoned huckster and added with a smirk:
"But as long as your goods are quality—and my cut is fair—I guarantee I'll sell out your stock!"
Who was he?
The top-tier salesman in the Matrix Purgatory!
Before entering this world, Li Hanhe had been tricked into joining a pyramid scheme. But rather than getting scammed, he awakened his latent talent for persuasion. He ended up flipping the script—turning the cult leader into his downline—and eventually expanded the operation to legendary proportions.
His hustle was so powerful, he landed himself on the Ministry of Public Security's wanted list.
A true sales legend.
Under Li Hanhe's eager gaze, Orsaga pulled out several crates.
Opening one, he took out a palm-sized object resembling a grenade and explained:
"Venom Grenade—functionally similar to a gas bomb, but much more portable and far more lethal. One grenade covers a hundred-meter radius. Anyone below D-Rank strength caught in the blast won't be walking away—and yes, it works on spiritual or spectral entities too."
Li Hanhe's eyes lit up. He immediately accepted the grenade from Orsaga and gave it a feel.
A hundred-meter kill radius wasn't anything too rare.
But if it could harm paranormal entities, this thing was a must-have for new Purgators.
After all, most rookie deaths came at the hands of ghosts and monsters—things you couldn't hit, and couldn't escape from either.
Truly infuriating.
He weighed the grenade in his hand, glanced at the remaining crates, and then said seriously:
"These are hard to price without a proper test run. I'll need to try one out first."
Orsaga nodded. "Go ahead."
"Wait here—I'll be right back."
With that, Li Hanhe vanished on the spot—he had to test it back in his private room.
---
Ten minutes later—
Li Hanhe returned to the stall, looking excited.
"This thing's good. Really good!. Compared to the talismans most rookies use, this grenade may not discriminate friend from foe, but it hits way harder. Used correctly, it could even be exploited for high-point farming!. So as long as the price isn't outrageous, I guarantee it'll fly off the shelves!"
Unmoved by the salesman's enthusiasm, Orsaga calmly replied, "I plan to sell them at 2,000 reward points each."
Li Hanhe frowned—not because the price was too high, but because it was way too low. It was far below his expected market value.
And since he worked on commission, he immediately tried to persuade him:
"This thing is worth at least 4,000 points per unit!. If you hand over the sales rights to me, I promise I'll move them at 4,000 each!"
Orsaga, who couldn't care less about the earnings, simply chuckled.
"Sure. Doesn't matter to me."
So generous!?
What Orsaga didn't realize was that his nonchalant attitude stabbed deep into Li Hanhe's heart.
As a top-level salesman, Li Hanhe could tell—Orsaga wasn't bluffing or posturing. He genuinely didn't care about profit.
Frustrated, he pulled out a contract and prepared to sign a formal cooperation deal under the Matrix Purgatory's enforcement system.
Orsaga glanced at the contract and casually pointed out two characters:
"Swap the order of these two."
Then pointed at another paragraph. "Delete this entire section."
After five consecutive edits, he finally smiled.
"Now it's acceptable. You're good with that, right?"
Li Hanhe waved his hands respectfully:
"Of course, of course~~. So many errors in my contract—my fault entirely. I beg your pardon!"
"No worries. I'm something of a contract expert myself."
As a Demon of the Abyss, contracts were practically second nature to him—right up there with murder and mayhem.
While chatting, Orsaga handed over the crates.
"There are 35 Venom Grenades in total. They're all yours now. Sell them well~"
---
A few minutes later—
As Orsaga's figure disappeared into the distance, Li Hanhe clenched his fists, gritting his teeth.
"Damn it!. His eyes are way too sharp. Even that hidden clause—I thought it was airtight—he saw through it in a second!. Was he a professional contract lawyer or something in his past life!?"
His attempt to scam a big spender had failed—completely.
He could only abide by the contract now and honestly work for his commission.
Still, a different thought took root in his mind.
For Orsaga to casually bring out this many Venom Grenades… either he had a method of mass-producing them, or he was sitting on a massive stockpile.
Either way, there was serious profit here.
After mulling it over, Li Hanhe decided to shelve certain ideas—at least for now.
Because at the moment, no one really knew how deep Orsaga's abilities ran.
And provoking an unknown powerhouse…
Was just asking for trouble.
